Friday, May 1st:
RESCHEDULED TO ALLOW TIME TO WARM UP
2:30 PM (was 9:30 AM) FUN PLUS-H3-24-NW-(Elevation Gain = 1207 feet) – Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE GREAT TOTEM POLE RIDE AKA THE HIDDEN GEMS OF INTERLOCKEN! Actually, the totem poles are gone now but...This exciting ride full of twists and turns uses portions of the new Hwy. 36 Trail to take us on a loop that includes the hidden gems of Flatirons Mall, Interlocken, Standley Lake, and Rock Creek Village! We will meet at the Rock Creek Village Safeway, which is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Rd., Superior). This ride is now 99.99% on paved trails.

Join Marilyn Choske at Broken Tee Golf Course parking lot near the large pavilion and ride this EASY FUN squiggly loop north, west, east, and south on trails and bike-friendly streets, then return for picnic goodies! Ride the Platte trail-Little Dry Creek-SCENIC Cherry Hills Village- Highline Canal (gravel)- Big Dry Creek -Platte River trails.
9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H3-25-SW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Broken Tee Golf Course (west end of parking lot at 2101 W. Oxford in Englewood). We will ride the South Platte Trail north to the Bear Creek Trail, which we will take west over the Bear Creek Dam to Morrison. After a break, we will return via Morrison Rd to Fox Hollow Golf Course, where we will meet up with the Bear Creek Trail and ride back to the start.
9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2orH3-19 ONE MORE RIDE! Meet Simone Caruthers (720-636-2884) at Broken Tee and head south on the Platte River Trail then climb up the dam to enjoy the view. Then we’ll ride the mile out to the turn-around and head back down and back for the picnic.
10:00 AM FUN-H2-14 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). Sleep in a bit and wait for it to warm up (though this year that might not be such a problem), then take a warmup ride at a fun pace. We’ll jump on the Platte Trail and then enjoy a shady ride up Big Dry Creek, along the Highline Canal, and back down Caley. There are a couple of climbs but only 614 feet and some of the trails are hardpack gravel. We’ll then wander back to enjoy the club picnic.
Sunday, May 3rd:
9:00 AM- FUN – H1- 27 NE HIDDEN TRAILS. Meet Cyndy Klepinger (303.725.1565) at Cake Crumbs, 2216 Kearney. The route starts with Cherry Creek Trail, then the Highline Canal to Tollgate to Sand Creek, Westerly Creek and finally Central Park trails. There are a few miles of city street riding in bike lanes and on a designated bike lane. Ride limited to 10 riders, to reserve a spot, text Cyndy at 303.725.1565. . Will have the opportunity to get a snack at Cake Crumbs after the ride.
Monday, May 4th:
9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H1-26-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Twin Lakes Park (west of Broadway at 70th, 300 W. 70th) for a ride east on the Clear Creek Trail to the South Platte Trail, which we will take north to Riverdale Park. After a break, we will return via the same route. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-34-SE-1660’ Ride to Aurora Reservoir via E-470 High Plains Trail. Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Broncos Parkway Trailhead (16400 E. Broncos Parkway, Centennial) for a ride out to Aurora Reservoir. We’ll ride a mix of neighborhood roads and trails entering the reservoir from the north side, biking along the reservoir and exiting on the south side. We’ll make a stop at the main beach area for a snack and to refill water bottles. Mileage and elevation may differ slightly as I finalize the route. Cross Hwy 93 to White Ranch east TH and ride roads to Golden. Beverage stop in Golden, compliments of DBTC. Return on roads and Clear Creek Trail to WR Rec Center. The parking lot for trail use is at the north end of Hudson Gardens behind the car wash on Maplewood Street. There is a short trail down to the coffee shop. We’ll head up through Grant Ranch and over to Weaver Creek then C-470 and finally down the new Dutch Creek Trail for a speedy downhill back to the Nixon’s. Bring your lunch or buy it at Nixon’s. 9:30 AM FUN-H2-25-NW NEW & IMPROVED WESTMINSTER CLASSIC. Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for an exciting ride full of unexpected twists, turns, and surprises...and now with BRAND NEW TRAILS. We will meet at the parking lot by the Armed Forces Tribute Garden, WEST of the baseball diamonds in Westminster City Park. (Directions: From US 36 and Church Ranch Blvd/104th Ave. exit, east on 104th about 1/2 mile to the first left after the Westminster Blvd light (just past the Armed Forces Tribute Garden), then go LEFT again into the parking lot. The address for the park is 10455 Sheridan Blvd but note again that we are meeting WEST of the buildings and baseball fields.) This ride takes us through the Westminster, Northglenn, and Thornton area, including the Farmer’s Highline Canal, Lee Lateral, and Grange Hall Creek trails.

Pedal south and west thru Bear Creek Park & Mt. Carbon to C470 south. Ride onto Ken Caryl to South Valley Road and on to Deer Creek Canyon Road for a short way. Exit at Ute and access northbound Kipling Parkway bike path all the way to Girton (near US285). Continue north & east on bike-friendly streets to Magill's on Jewell. Bring $ and enjoy your ice cream. Wednesday, May 13th:
9:30 AM FUN-H2-20 SW Twin Tunnel Route Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110) for a ride up Big Dry Creek to the Highline Canal. The canal is hard packed along this beautiful section of the trail that will have you humming Country Roads. We will go UNDER Hampden and Colorado Blvd. using the two tunnels, have a snack in the park, then enjoy 4 miles of downhill on Dartmouth and back. Bring lunch for a picnic after.
NEW MTB RIDE
10:30 AM MTB P2 T2 Dawson Butte Open Space in Douglas County. Meet Steve Farley 303-437-5442 (text is best), at the Open Space trailhead for a couple of laps of the trail system. A ride of five miles each lap. The area is mostly forested terrain of rolling hills and open meadow. Respect wildlife as elk, bears, mountain lions and other species call this home. All riders must sign-in at the start of the ride.
Directions to the trailhead, After Castle Rock go south on I25 Exit 174 to 1753 Tomah Road. at Tomah Rd., go right-west-for 1.5 miles to the Dawson Butte Ranch entrance on the right.
Post ride Bring a chair and lunch/snacks for after ride socializing in the parking lot under the frontage road on the west side of I 25, go right-north until you get to Tomah road, turn left-west for 1.5 miles to the Dawson Butte trailhead.

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2/3- 27-SE. Five Trails RIde Meet Robert Drucker 303-475-4964 at The Pinery Trailhead, 6662 N Pinery Pkwy, Parker, CO 80134 . This ride is all on trails from Parker to Castle Rock and back. We will ride the Cherry Creek Trail, McMurdo Gulch Trail, Woodlands Trail, Hangman's Gulch Trail, and Plum Creek Trail. There are a few road crossings but no road riding. The McMurdo Gulch trail to Founders Parkway is challenging (6 miles, 2% average grade which includes a couple of very short 4+% climbs) as will be the return from Castle Rock to Founders Parkway. 10:00 am NE FUN/ FUN Plus H1 - 25mi Twin Lakes to Sand Creek and Northfield Loop Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Twin Lakes 300 70th Ave Denver (1/8 mi West of 53 and 224) We will ride East on Clear Creek trail to South Platte trail junction. Turn right over Clear Creek bridge to Denver. Follow Platte bike path South to the Sand Creek trail junction on left. Follow Sand Creek trail to the Sand Creek Greenway and do a big loop around urban Central Park. At 13 miles a midride stop at Starbucks for bathroom and refreshment. After our break we continue along Central Park Blvd to the North Field Mall. We extend our ride by another loop around urban Prairie Basin and Meadow Basin Parks. Return on Sand Creek to Twin Lakes for recovery, socializing, and lunch that you brought. Bring money for your Starbucks break.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-24-SE KRISPY KREME DONUT RIDE Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Arapahoe Road Trailhead (.2 miles east on Arapahoe Rd from the Arapahoe Rd and S. Jordan Rd intersection). Start off the riding season with a fun easy ride and a treat in the middle! If it’s a warm day you can purchase a cold drink and if it’s a cold day you can purchase a warm drink. Either go well with a fresh Krispy Kreme donut! We’ll ride south on the Cherry Creek Trail to the E470 Trail where we’ll turn and go west until we reach Krispy Kreme. 10:00 am ATB/MTB H1 18 Miles (Out and Back) Foxton Road, South Platte River road Gravel or mountain bike. Ride this little used dirt road along the north fork of the South Platte in western Jefferson County. Directions: Highway 285 south past Conifer. Turn south on Foxton Road towards Reynolds Park. Hint: Bathrooms in parking lot of this park are cleaned regularly. Best option for pre ride bathroom break. Continue south to T intersection at Platte River. There is a fisherman’s parking lot here. We will ride along the river SE to a nice spot for snack and turn around to return same way.

9:30 AM FUN - H2 - 19 SE Meet Mark Fields (302-465-4525) at the western end of the parking park in front of Cook Recreation Center in Cook Park (7100 Cherry Creek Drive South) for an out-and-back ride on the Cherry Creek Trail down to Cherry Creek State Park and around the reservoir. All paved, mostly gently rolling terrain with a few brief climbs (657’ elevation change). Bring a sack lunch or snacks to enjoy together at Cook Park afterward.

Then we will continue to climb east up Alameda to Forsberg Iron Spring Park where we will have a break. After the break, we will ride down Alameda (on the frontage road) to Garrison and south to the start. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.

10:00 am NE Fun/Plus H1 31 NE Rotella Park to Ken Mitchell Park Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Rotella Park, 1824 Coronado Pkwy S. Denver. Bike East on Niver Creek bikeway to South Platte trail and turn left, North. Following the Platte River on the right, for 16 miles to Ken Mitchell Park and Open space. Break and bathroom(possibly enroute) at Park. After the break we will return by the same route to Rotella Park around lunch time. Entire route is flat and open views of Thornton ponds and river. Welcome to bring snack/lunch items for socializing after ride if desired.
Wednesday, May 20th
9:00AM FUN PLUS H-2-34 Miles SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at the west end of the parking lot for the Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). We will ride the South Platte to the C-470 trail, then to the perimeter road, exiting the rear gate to Roxborough Park Rd. We will have one mile of no bike lane. Left on Titan with a stop at Atlas Coffee Shop, bring $ if you want something, then to Eagle River and return. Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride.
9:30 AM FUN H2-20 to 25-SE Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Village Greens Park – NE corner of Union and Dayton for a loop ride from the park through Denver and Aurora on trails and then a lap around the reservoir on our return. We haven’t been there for a while so it seems like something we should do.

9:00 AM-FUN-H4 (2200 Ft)-21miles - W Meet Janet Martel (303-929-5950) at Little Park, Between Idledale and Lair O’ the Bear park on Bear Creek Road. 4 miles west of Morrison, south side of highway, not well marked. There are a few short gravel sections. Road bikes ok but you might want slightly wider tires. Leader will be riding e-gravel bike. We will climb Grapevine road from Idledale to I70. Ride through Genesee and cross I70 to join the bike trail to Evergreen. We will follow a few back roads and descend Kerr Gulch Road back to Bear Creek road to complete our loop back to Little Park.
9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-23-NW (Elevation Gain = 998) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE HIDDEN GEMS OF ARVADA. We have all experienced the traditional Arvada classic trails of Ralston Creek, Clear Creek, and Van Bibber. Check out this new route instead that explores Lake Arbor, the Pomona Lakes, the Arvada Fire Fighter’s Park, the backside of baseball, and other forgotten areas and is guaranteed to be an adventure! Meet at the SE corner of HWY 36 and 104th at the back side of the new HotPot, formally Black Bear Diner, formally Quaker State and Lube Restaurant (10392 Reed St., Westminster, CO) by a hidden entrance to a hidden trail where the adventure will begin (and end).

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2/3-23-SE Tour de Highlands Ranch Meet Bill Monroe (630-386-7935) at the Northridge Rec Center, 8800 S Broadway, HR 80126. Three lights south of C-470. After turning into the rec center, proceed through the parking lot(s) to the eastern-most section. Enjoy the twists, turns and rolling terrain of this scenic ride with amazing views of the front range (weather permitting) and stops at the Cheese Ranch Historic Park and Highlands Ranch Mansion. 9:00 AM FUN PLUS H3-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Crown Hill Park (26th & Garrison) for a ride south to Alameda (riding the frontage road) and then west to Morrison via Rooney Rd. After a break, we will ride east via Morrison Rd and the Bear Creek Trail to the Stone House, returning north on Garrison to the park. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic after the ride.
Tuesday, May 26th
10:00 AM ATB/H2 29 Miles, 80% gravel 20 % asphalt. The Dirty Chatfield gravel ride. Gravel tires or MTB needed. Meet Lauren Delle (970-903-8409) in the Waterton Canyon parking lot, Wadsworth Blvd south past Chatfield, turn left on Waterton Road, take entrance to the parking lot on the left. We will ride gravel/paved paths around, over and back around Chatfield, connecting with the Highline Canal trail and end with a ride up Waterton Canyon to the dam and back to cars. Bring sack lunch and chairs for post-ride lunch. Ride limited to 8 riders.

9:00 FUN PLUS H-2-26 Miles SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at the west end of the parking lot for the Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). We will ride the South Platte, go up Dartmouth Ave. to Dahlia St. Happy Canyon, proceed to Quincy Ave. to Clarkson to the High Line Canal, and neighborhood streets to Mineral then return on the South Platte. Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride.
9:00 AM FUN H2-22 miles Ride to Central Park (Not NYC) Meet Patty Gaspar at South High School 1700 E Louisiana Ave for a beautiful ride through old Denver neighborhoods to Central Park. Then we’ll head back through City Park, Cheesman Park and Washington Park. Lunch at Duffy’s.

9:00 AM FUN-H3-22-NW (Elevation Gain = 1173 feet) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) THE GREAT BLACK HOLE OF LOUISVILLE AKA THE HIDDEN GEMS OF LOUISVILLE!!! This exciting ride full of twists and turns uses the newest portion of the HWY 36 trail that goes west from Interlocken into Boulder then loops back through Louisville and Superior using some interesting secret trails including the Double Lombard Street Experience and the famous Black Hole of Louisville! See you under the trees at the Safeway at the Rock Creek village Shopping Center in Superior for this tour of the trails of Superior, Louisville, and South Boulder (with a few roads mixed in as required). Rock Creek village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027).
Friday, May 29th
9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-42-SE Cherry Creek Trail south to Castlewood Canyon Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Broncos Parkway Trailhead (16400 E. Broncos Parkway, Centennial) for a ride south on the Cherry Creek Trail to its end at Castlewood Canyon. This is a fairly flat ride (~950 feet total elevation) with a few small hills and one final hill up to the canyon. It trends uphill on the way south with the reward of a gradual downhill on the way back. There is one section, about .25 miles, of gravel. This ride is beautiful any time of the year but may be especially so this time of year if the leaves change early. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward. Ride is limited to 10 riders.
