Social Distancing Required: Some leaders may require you to pre-register for the ride and limit participants. All leaders expect you to maintain social distancing when riding.  Be sure to read the ride description for registration rules, distance and difficulty. Call the ride leader if you are not sure. As always, routes may be changed the day of the ride.


Monday August 31st:

9:00AM FUN-H1-20-NW Monday Ramble Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Twin Lakes Park (west of Broadway on 70th Ave) for a ride east on the Clear Creek Trail to the South Platte Trail and south to REI.  We will return via the same route for a social distancing picnic in the park afterwards.


Tuesday September 1st:

10:30 AM, MTB, P2, T1.5, 9 miles, FAR SOUTH: Easy Thermos Lunch Ride - Pineries in Black Forest, north of Colorado Springs.  Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at this brand new single track that I have ridden and it is worth the drive for a nice, relaxing MTB ride. We will meet at the Pineries trailhead north of Shupe and east of Vollmer.  After we complete the 9 mile loop we will meet for a social distancing picnic. Wednesday, September 2nd:

Meet 9:15 AM, Roll 9:30 AM. INT-H3-20-W-+2360'  Kick in September by kickin' it "up the hill!" (and before the snows come)  Bakerville to Loveland Pass (11,990') & Return.  Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at Bakerville, I-70 Exit 221, south side of I-70 in the parking lot.  Been wanting to attempt this ride?  Join us.  Climb "BLT" (Bakerville/Loveland Trail) 5 miles to Loveland Valley for first break.  After re-group, continue on Loveland Pass Road (Hwy 6) 4+ more miles up to the Pass.  Smile for the camera at the Loveland Pass sign and return to Bakerville.  You must take extreme care on this road, as there is no consistently paved shoulder.  Take your rest breaks, as needed.  This is a no-rush ride and you may turn around at any time and meet us at Loveland Valley.  Bring masks for rest stops/social distancing.  Limit 7 riders, including leader.  Register via TEXT to leader by September 1.  Ride will not go if it is rainy or the forecast is for morning rain.  Call the leader if in doubt.  Leader sends out pre-ride email information.  Check your brakes!

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Crown Hill (26th & Garrison) for a ride south to Alameda and then west to Morrison via Rooney Rd.  We will return via Morrison Rd and the Bear Creek Trail to the Stone House and then north back to Crown Hill via Lakewood neighborhoods for a social distancing picnic afterwards.


Thursday, September 3rd

9:00 AM Leisure H1-21-SE Meet Dave Noble (home 303-694-2008, cell 303-906-3163) in South High School's parking lot (Note: you may need to park on Franklin if the school's parking lot is closed)   South High is on the corner of Louisiana and S. Franklin, near SE corner of Washington Park.  We’ll ride through old Denver neighborhoods:  Lowery, Westerly Creek, Central Park, and Cheeseman Park. Bring a folding chair  and a lunch to eat in Washington Park after the ride.


Friday, September 4

9:15 AM FUN-H1-44 POUDRE RIVER TRAIL RIDE.  Meet Cyndy Klepinger and Helen Berkman for an Out of Town Ride. Take a ride along the Poudre River Trail in Larimer County.  The 21-mile trail winds along the Poudre River and its stands of cottonwoods.  It’s an out and back ride on a wide paved path with gentle grades.  A treat break will be offered in Greeley. Pack a picnic lunch for a social distance picnic at the Trailhead at River Bluffs Open Space after riding.

The ride will feature two groups of eight riders.  For those who want a faster pace (15 mph+), contact Cyndy Klepinger by phone or text:  303.725.1565 to reserve your spot.  Helen Berkman will lead another group at a slower pace (10 – 12 mph).  To reserve a spot, contact her:  720.355.5687.

Directions to Trailhead:  From I-25 North, take Exit 262 east bound for 1.5 miles to County Road 3, go North on County Road 3 for 0.5 miles to County Road 32E, and to east on County Road 32E for 0.3 miles to the entrance of River Bluffs Open Space. https://www.larimer.org/naturalresources/parks/river-bluffs

Note:  It’s about an hour drive to Trailhead, depending on where you live in the metro area.This is a 42-44 mile out and back, with a treat break in Greeley.The Cache la Poudre River is rich in history and is the lifeblood for water resources in the Northern Colorado Region. The Poudre River Trail runs through the river corridor between Greeley and Windsor - a wide paved path with gentle grades that is away from road noise and busy intersections. It allows those that use the trail to enjoy the natural beauty of the meandering river and the stands of cottonwood. 


Saturday, September 5th

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-21 NW (1541 feet of elevation gain) – HIDDEN GEMS OF GOLDEN LABOR DAY WEEKEND JUGGLING RIDE!!! Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this fairly new Hidden Gems adventure around beautiful Golden as we celebrate Labor Day Weekend. We will meet in Golden at Lions Park on the south side of 10th and Maple in the parking lot towards Clear Creek. We will then ride the Golden Circle and beyond to Heritage Park and other unexplored areas including, I promise you, a rose garden. Riders will be rewarded for their climbing around Golden with a high altitude juggling act at Heritage Dells Park before the descent begins.


Sunday, September 6th

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H4-30-W (Elevation Gain 3622 feet) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE MAGNIFICENT MOUNT EVANS SUMMIT EXPERIENCE. There are no cars allowed on Mount Evans this year so this is the opportunity of a lifetime!!! It also appears that they may be totally closing it after Labor Day so this may be our last chance!! We will meet at the entrance to the Mount Evans Road at Echo Lake and then ride the 15 miles and 3622 feet up to the top at 14260 feet! After we survey the summit we will have a quick descent back to the cars where we will celebrate our achievement. RSVP is required for this ride!!!!

8:30 AM FUN PLUS-H1-30 +/- NEMeet Cyndy Klepinger at Cake Crumbs to ride east to Aurora Soccer Fields – will ride a combination of roads and trails.  Pace around 13 – 16 with ave of 14mph.  Limit of 8 riders, please reserve by texting Cyndy (303)725.1565 or email, matilda8@msn.com.  Please bring masks to wear while socializing at beginning and end of ride.


Tuesday, September 8th

CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-25-W Frisco Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE FREE ICE CREAM TOUR OF DILLON RESERVOIR – KEYSTONE EDITION. We will ride the multi-use trail halfway around Lake Dillon and then on to Keystone. We will then return to the lake to complete our loop and climb the Swan Mountain bike path to the top and enjoy the incredible view. Afterwards, we will enjoy the fabulous downhill ride, completing a circle back to Frisco where DBTC will purchase ice cream for all riders at the Foote Sweet Shoppe. This ride will meet at the Ten Mile Rec path parking lot at the southeast corner of I-70 & Main Street.  Drive westbound from Denver on I-70 to Exit 201 and look for DBTC members in the parking lot.

9:00 AM Leisure H1-21-NE Join Carolyn Roberts (303-880-8672) at Rotella Park, 1824 Coronado Parkway N, Denver, for an out and back ride on the Sand Creek Trail.  Meet at the northeast corner of the park in the parking area.  We’ll periodically stop for water breaks and any interesting discoveries.  At the halfway point, we’ll break under a shaded pavilion at the Adams County Fairgrounds for a snack, then continue riding back to Rotella Park.  If you like, put a cooler and a chair in your car and bring a picnic lunch to relax under the trees or covered pavilions.

Suzy is leading a ride from Expo Community Center (10955 E Exposition Ave, Aurora, CO 80011) on bike paths south through Cherry Creek State Park to the High Line Canal trail and a stop for breakfast or lunch (or just a snack, they have great treats) at Kneaders. Then we’ll circle through Aurora back to the center. Come join us and welcome a new ride leader.

Continue for roughly 3 miles to the intersection of 74 and 103. Friday, September 11th

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-18/23-NW PATRIOT DAY RIDE. Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) to honor Patriot Day with a visit to the 9/11 Monument in Broomfield duringTHE SPACE, TIME, 9/11 RIDE or THE HIDDEN GEMS OF BROOMFIELD! It begins near the SE corner of Sheridan and 120th at the new Whole Foods in Westminster (1/2 mile east of Sheridan at Vrain and 120th. ADDRESS is 4451 Main Street.) We will take secret trails around Westminster and Broomfield where we will experience three incredible hidden displays including THE SOLAR SYSTEM, a brief history of GEOLOGIC COLORADO TIME, and most importantly, the 9/11 MONUMENT. (This ride has an escape option at the 18 mile marker for riders who run out of time and/or steam.) Enjoy a post ride patriotic lunch at Whole Foods. This adventure has received rave reviews with 4 and a half stars from the ride critics!


Saturday, September 12th

9:00 AM FUN-H2-20-28-SW: Join your DBTC President, Helen Berkman (720-355-5687) if you want to help scout/map out a potential FUN ride for our October 10th fall rides. I am not familiar with the area so this will be a slower FUN ride with plenty of stops and starts for review and discussion. For this reason, I am limiting riders to six. If you enjoy an "Expedition" like me and Christopher Robin, sign up! Meet in parking lot at corner of Bowles and Pierce. Bring a sandwich and I'll have drinks and chips in the car for afterward.


Sunday, September 13th

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-23-NW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE HIDDEN GEMS OF ARVADA. We have all experienced the traditional Arvada classic trails of Ralston Creek, Clear Creek, and Van Bibber. Check out this new route instead that explores Lake Arbor, Pomona Lake, the Arvada Fire Fighter’s Park and other forgotten areas and is guaranteed to be an adventure! Meet at the SE corner of HWY 36 and 104th at the back side of the now closed Black Bear Diner, formally Quaker State and Lube Restaurant (10392 Reed St., Westminster, CO) by a hidden entrance to a hidden trail where the adventure will begin (and end).

10:00AM MTB P2, T2, Buffalo Creek
THE RIDE: Meet Steve Thomas for a ride on the Baldy and Gashouse trails at Buffalo Creek. The ride will be approx. 17 miles with some fairly easy climbing and a few rocky downhill areas.
THE TIME: Meet at the Buffalo Creek parking lot  at 10:00AM.
THE DIRECTIONS: Go west on Hwy 285 past Conifer to Pine Valley Road. Go south on Pine Valley Road to the town of Pine. From Pine continue south 3 miles to the turnoff, on the right, for the Buffalo Creek parking lot.
THE FOOD: Bring snacks, drinks and chairs for after the ride at the park.

Saturday, September 19th

FUN 9:30 AM H2 (1,453 elev gain)-29 miles-West Join Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) for the ever popular Idaho Springs to Georgetown ride. There is a new starting point - the ballpark (directions below). We get to ride a new bike path around Idaho Springs then onto Georgetown for ice cream (bring $). You then coast back to your car-- Remember, you must wear a mask when the group is not riding and to go into any place in Georgetown and to practice social distancing when riding. If it is rainy or very windy, the ride can be cancelled. Directions: I-70 Exit 241. Take first RIGHT at the exit roundabout and follow the road up & over I-70.  Just past the green sign, turn RIGHT towards County Road 314.  Turn RIGHT at the stop sign & continue to the ballpark ahead and park on the north side of the park. Wednesday, September 23rd

Joint Leisure/Fun/ATB Ride H2-16 or 24 Multiple start options: 8:15 AM Meet at The Fort to carpool or 9:15 AM at Foxton Road Ride Meet Lin Hark and Patty Gaspar at The Fort 8:15 AM or South Platte Hotel 9:15 AM Ride can be shortened since it is 2 out-and-back rides. Meet Lin Hark (mtnlin08@gmail.com or 303-578-9369) at 9:15 AM at the trailhead, or 8:15 AM at The Fort Restaurant to carpool to Foxton Rd and the South Platte River for an easy ride on an old railroad grade. Hybrid or mountain bike is preferred but a road bike will work. Surface and grade is similar to Waterton Canyon. This is a beautiful ride on a railroad grade along the North Fork of the South Platte River Canyon above Strontia Springs Reservoir above Waterton Canyon. If you love to ride Waterton Canyon you will love this ride even more!!! Lunch after at Zoka’s in Pine. Directions to The Fort Restaurant in Morrison 8:15 AM: from 285 and C-470 go south on 285 (toward the mountains) 1.8 miles, Turn right at CO-8 Go .01 mile and turn right into the parking lot along the road in front of The Fort Restaurant. Look for Lin’s white Toyota Prius with the bike on the top. Directions to Foxton Road 9:15 AM: from 285 and C470 go south on 285 (toward the mountains) 14 miles,   to past the turn off for County Road 73 (where the Bradley Station is) .2 miles, Turn right where the sign says Foxton Road, Go a short distance and turn left and go under 285, the road winds and comes to a “T”, go left. Go about 12 miles all the way to the end of Foxton Road, At the River go left and continue for 5 miles to the trailhead across from the historic South Platte Hotel.

4:00 PM FUN PLUS H1. around 15 miles :  Meet Suzanne Carter (equinelites@aol.com) 720-480-6521 At the FOX HOLLOW GOLF COURSE  13410 W. Morrison Rd., Lakewood, CO 80228 (MEET AT THE STATUE OF THE LITTLE GOLFER IN FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT) . We will do an out and back,  riding east on the Bear Creek Trail for about 7 or 8 miles along a really fun trail that is next to Bear Creek, and then head back to the restaurant for a beer on the deck!


Thursday, September 24

Meet 08:00; Roll 08:15. INT-H3-26-W-+2600' "Progressive Lookout Challenge #3: The Final Lap--uh-oh! Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at the meeting place described at the end of description.   From our Golden meet place, access and pedal up Lookout Mountain Road.  From the top, continue over hilly terrain and finally spill out onto Hwy 40 east.  Turn right & ride towards Morrison on County Rd 93 and climb over Dinosaur Saddle and enjoy views.  Access and climb Rooney Road and ride paths & streets back to our cars, including a Starbucks beverage stop, compliments of DBTC, to celebrate your accomplishment!   Bring masks for rest stops/social distancing.  Limit 7 riders, including leader.  Register via TEXT to leader by September 23.  Ride will not go if it is rainy or forecast is for morning rain.  Call the leader if in doubt.  

MEET PLACE directions:  Large Coors parking lot ACROSS Jackson Street from the American Mountaineering Center in Golden.  Lot boundaries are Ford/Jackson and 9th/10th Streets.  If you come in from Hwy 58, exit Washington St and go south to LEFT turn at 9th St, then RIGHT turn onto Jackson.  Enter LEFT from Jackson.  Please look at a map if you need visual verification.  DO NOT PARK in the AMC smaller parking lot!  Look for my red Kia Sportage w/bike rack.

9:30 AM FUN-H2-20-NW MAJESTIC MYSTERY RIDE Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the Majestic view Park north parking lot (north on Wadsworth to W 72nd Ave, west on 72nd, just west of Carr on the south side. THIS IS NOT THE ENTRANCE at GARRISON ST. or 71st ST!) The ride will go west on Ridge Road and van Bibber Creek Trail, north on the new Blunn Trail and then return on the entire length of Ralston Creek Trail. The theme of this ride is a mystery so a mystery prize will be provided to all participants during the Ralston Creek Golf Course break!


Monday, September 28th

9:00 AM Leisure H2-20-SE Join Jill McMahon (cell 303 888-0314) at the Arapahoe Rd Trailhead for the Cherry Creek Trail (Between Jordan and Parker Roads on the south side of the street.)  We will ride north into Cherry Creek Park and turn east on the Piney Creek Trail.  We will ride to a point just past E 470 and turn around for a total of about 20 miles.  If you want - bring a lunch and we can eat “socially distanced” after the ride at the large shelter at the trailhead.

9:30 AM FUN-H2-17 SW Monday Ramble Meet Patty Gaspar 303-618-5069 behind the tennis bubble, W Bowles & S Federal in Littleton, ride the Platte River Trail to Chatfield, then east on C-470 Trail for a mostly gentle climb then across on Clarkson with fun rollers followed a great downhill on Big Dry Creek to finish the loop. Bring a picnic lunch and we’ll ride back to a pretty little picnic area we found last time we did this ride (or you can buy a sandwich at the golf course to take along.)


Tuesday, September 29th

10:00 AM, MTB P2,T2, Easy Cooler Lunch Ride – Alderfer / Three Sisters Park. The Easy Cooler Tuesday Lunch Rides are organized by Liz Cameron (bizliz8888@gmail.com). These are Show’nGo Rides: The folks who show up decide what to ride. A ride is scheduled every Tuesday thru the summer. Look at Meetup.com under the DBTC group to sign up and for ride changes. Today’s ride is at Alderfer/Three Sisters in Evergreen. THE DIRECTIONS: Go to the signalized “T” intersection in downtown Evergreen, then south on Hwy 73 for 1⁄2 mile to another signal at Buffalo Park Road. Turn right (west) for 2.2 miles and enter the upper Alderfer parking lot just beyond the bright yellow house in the meadow. THE FOOD: Keys on the Green (restaurant in the Evergreen Golf Course clubhouse). Be prepared to bring a chair and food for a post ride picnic in the parking lot if the restaurant is not open.  

 

Wednesday, September 30th 

Meet 09:00 AM; ROLL 09:15 AM INT-H3-30-1550' elev. gain.   "The Great Blue River Loop September Wrap-Up Capped with Coffee Stop"   Meet Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at North Pond Park parking lot, located off Hwy 9 about 2 miles north of Silverthorne & I-70.  Turn Right off Hwy 9 at Hamilton Creek Road traffic light and turn immediately Right into the North Pond Park parking lot.  Restrooms available.  Ride Silverthorne bike path south along the Blue River and access the Frisco/Dillon bike path.  Pedal up, then down Swan Mountain via bike path and road and on to Frisco for FREE coffee, compliments of your DBTC!  Hop back onto the bike path and enjoy the mostly downhill ride to your car.  Moderate pace (10-14mph).  Bring masks for rest stops/social distancing.  Limit 8 riders, including leader.  Register via TEXT to leader by September 29.  Ride will not go if it is rainy (or SNOWY) or forecast for morning rain (or SNOW!).  Call the leader if in doubt.  Leader sends out pre-ride email information.

9:30 AM FUN-H2/3-25-SW Meet Susie Frakes(303-910-8206) behind the 7-11 Store parking lot on the corner of Garrison and Ken Caryl.  We will ride over to Chatfield Park, exploring some new paths in the park, stopping at the Marina for a snack break and then back along some other new paths to the West Entrance, up Deer Creek a little ways cutting through a neighborhood and back to Garrison and Ken Caryle.  Bring a sack lunch for a social distance picnic afterwards in Susie's back yard.


Thursday, October 1st

9:00 AM FUN PLUS–H3–23-NW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) - TAKE A NEW TWIST THIS TIME AND TURN ON TO THIS TOP-NOTCH TWISTY TRAIL AND TITILLATING TONGUE-TWISTER TOUR!!!  (Elevation Gain = 1225 feet) Bring your favorite tongue twisters or listen to others as we travel around the twisty turns of Superior, Boulder, and Louisville (with a few roads mixed in a required.) This ride twist uses the newest portion of the HWY 36 trail that goes west from Interlocken into Boulder then loops back through Louisville and Superior using some interesting secret trails including the Double Lombard Street Experience and the famous Black Hole of Louisville! Meet at the Safeway at the Rock Creek Village Shopping Center in Superior. Rock Creek Village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027.) Layers of likeable and laughable lunch options will be loudly and loosely laid out and locked in later…luckily!
