Friday August 30th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-30-NE Trike Friday Ride: Join Lise Neer (303-249-8621) at Cake Crumbs Bakery & Café (2216 Kearney St, Denver, CO. 80207) for a spin on your trike, Bike Friday (or whatever).We'll ride through Lowry to the Highline Canal, connect with the Cherry Creek Trail, then out and around CC Reservoir. Return via Cherry Creek Trail & Kearney. Ride will cancel if raining at start time or if T-storms are forecast. Lise's elbow was injured so come commiserate with her.

12:00 PM FUN PLUS-H1/2-25 SW Meet Ellen C (outdoorsdiva@yahoo.com) just northeast of the Pedal Bike Shop in Littleton (2640 W Belleview Ave #100) for a ride to Comrade Brewery Company. Meet near the river. Check out their beer list here: https://comradebrewing. com/brews/. We will ride along bike paths and bike friendly streets. Leader will bring pretzels and peanuts provided by DBTC.


Saturday, August 31st:

9:00 AM FUN-H1-24-Downtown Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this Incredible Hudson Gardens FREE DRINK Adventure! We will meet at the City of Cuernavaca Park downtown (Exit at 20th Ave going east away from the mountains. Turn right over the bridge onto Little Raven, then turn right onto 19th Street, then right onto Platte River which becomes Rockmont Drive, and go until you dead end into the parking lot) for this fantastic ride down the Platte River Bike Path to the infamous Hudson Gardens and back. A complimentary beverage of your choice will be provided to all riders by DBTC at the break at Nixon’s Coffee House at Hudson Gardens.


Sunday, September 1st:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25 +-NE Meet at Cake Crumbs Bakery, 2216 Kearney St., Denver. These rides will be Show and Go. Each Sunday, we pick a different route, and the distances vary from 25 miles up to 50 miles. We ride east toward DIA and Watkins, sometimes north to Brighton, southeast to Aurora Reservoir or Cherry Creek, or maybe northeast to Broomfield and the new Highway 36 Trail. Some rides may be faster than others; reminders and routes are announced on Meetup. If you want to be the leader, just announce on MeetUp what the plan is.


Monday, September 2nd:

Tuesday, September 3rd:

7:15 AM INT/ADV-H4-48-NW/NW- +2082’ elev gain. Meet Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at Crown Hill Park at 26th & Garland in Wheat Ridge. Fire up those legs and lungs for a hefty jaunt of the Hogback/Morrison/Bear Creek area and on to Platte River north. (Ice cream stop in Morrison?) Cut off at 17th and make a stop at Dunkin’ . Continue on 26th Ave west to Crown Hill and complete a nice loop ride.

10:30 AM, MTB, P2, T2, Floyd Hill Open Space (Show’NGo). What do the following acronyms have in common? Start with GOCO, TPL, MALT, and CCCOS. Finish with VOC, CYCA, MHYC, and finally add some 80 women moving rock and dirt on a hot day in July 2018. You get the first trails of Floyd Hill Open Space. Come explore the Front Range’s newest trail system. It’s a short ride - about 4.3 miles or 6.2 miles if you do an extra loop. If you want to get more of a workout, go down to US 6 to do the climb up to the Centennial Cone loop. Or, instead, get a brew and lunch at El Rancho Brewing Company. Directions: The parking lot (37899 US-40, Evergreen, CO 80439) is at the top of Floyd Hill on the north side of I-70. To get there: Heading west on I-70 from Denver take exit 248 (first exit after Evergreen exit). Go right onto County Road 65 then an immediate left onto US40. Go west for 1.3 miles. The parking lot is on your right.


Wednesday, September 4th:

9:00 AM Leisure H2-20 SW (barely) Meet Richard Gieseler (303-722-1475) at Broadway Marketplace (SW of Broadway and Alameda. just west of Taco Bell and south of Safeway, intersection of W. Dakota and S. Bannock) in the RTD designated parking area. We will ride north on the Platte and take a break at the Mexican bakery in Globeville and possibly explore some new neighborhoods in Rino and ride back to Broadway Marketplace. Optional lunch at a nearby restaurant.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2to3-25 SW Meet Patty Gaspar 303-618-5069 behind the tennis bubble, W Bowles & S Federal in Littleton, ride the Platte River Trail to Chatfield, over the dam then east on C-470 Trail for a mostly gentle climb then across on Clarkson with fun rollers followed a great downhill to Big Dry Creek to finish the loop. Lunch afterwards is at one of the nearby eateries.


Friday September 6th:

12:00 PM FUN PLUS-H1/2-27 SW Meet Ellen C (outdoorsdiva@yahoo.com) just northeast of the Pedal Bike Shop in Littleton (2640 W Belleview Ave #100) for a ride to Joyride Brewery. Meet near the river. This brewery is in the Sloan’s Lake area. Please contact the leader if you want to meet us along the way. The basic plan is to take the Platte bike path north to where you turn off for the football stadium. Then side roads and paths from there. Saturday, September 7th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-27-SE Meet Ellen Fitzpatrick (720-209-2269) at Reynolds Landing (South Santa Fe turn right on Brewery Lane going to end into parking lot past the Breckenridge Brewery) for an out and back ride along the Platte River south to the Chatfield Reservoir “new” marina (still may be under construction) and check out the new stretches of paved bike path that will soon complete the circle around the reservoir. (And who knows, at the rate they are working, it may be completed by the time we get there!). Lots of new trees planted and picnic sights. Lunch afterwards group choice.

10:30 AM, MTB, T1-4, P1-4, Curt Gowdy State Park. Bob Kochevar will lead us on this ride. Call (303-870-6833) or e-mail him, (bob_ kochevar@yahoo.com,) if you will participate. There’s a singletrack smorgasbord here, from beginner trails along the shoreline to giant rocks to huck off. The trails are in an alpine environment. We will ride several of the trails at Curt Gowdy SP on the West side of the park. There are more than 35 miles of trails for biking at Curt Gowdy SP that travel through a host of different landscapes; i.e. high plains, upland montane and riparian. Curt Gowdy State Park is located just 24 miles west of Cheyenne, Wyoming and 24 miles east of Laramie. From Denver, take I-25 North to Cheyenne. Take exit 10 (State Route 210) and continue 24 miles West. It’s about a 2 hour or so drive. The main park entrance is on the south side of the road. We will meet at the Visitor Center near the entrance off Hwy 210 at 10:30 AM, Saturday, Sept 7. WEEKEND OPTIONS: Camping is available for a fee. Bob has reserved a group campsite for Friday night, 9/6, and Saturday night, 9/7, that permits tent camping for up to 10 people. Let Bob know by voice mail at the above phone number, or e-mail, if you plan to camp either or both nights. Also, each car entering the park has to pay a daily use fee. 9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-25-SW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE GREAT AMERICAN DINOSAUR RIDE 2019!!! The adventure begins at the Lakewood Heritage Center at Belmar Park at Ohio Street on the west side of Wadsworth, north of Mississippi and South of Alameda. We will tour the park then head west to Dinosaur Ridge and Red Rocks where we will stop for a break. Then we will continue on down through Morrison and Bear Creek Trail and return north to Belmar Park. The first 100 attendees will ride for free!!! Lunch options will be discussed.


Tuesday, September 10th:

10:30 AM, MTB, P2-3, T2-3, Lair O’ the Bear Park (Show’nGo). Lair O’ the Bear Open Space Park is about 5 miles west of Morrison on Hwy 74. The parking lot is on the south side of the road. The full ride (12.6 miles) is an out and back to Pence Park on Meyers Gulch Road. The first mile is an easy flowing trail alongside Bear Creek. The next mile and a half has some serious climbing sections. So ride what you can, knowing that you’ll have a downhill back to the parking lot. After the ride return to Morrison have lunch at the Red Rocks Grill.


Wednesday, September 11th:

9:00 AM Leisure Ride H1-15-SW Meet Cathye Woody (720-530-3940 cell) at the west end of the parking lot for the Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110) and ride to Fox Hollow Golf course and back on the Bear Creek Trail. Bring a snack for the ride. Lunch after the ride is optional at Panera.

7:15 AM INT/ADV-H4-41-NW-+2930’ elev gain. Meet Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at Anderson Park, back lot near bike path, 44th & Field, in Wheat Ridge. Ride Clear Creek bike path to Golden, climb Lookout Mountain and return same way. Stop at Starbucks, compliments of DBTC, to celebrate your accomplishment! Continue north on 93 to Van Bibber and Ralston Creek Trails, climbing Blunn Reservoir along the way, which will seem now like a molehill! Exit RC Trail at Garrison and head south and back to Anderson Park.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2(orH3)-25 or 30 NW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Anderson Park, back lot near bike path a 44th & Field in Wheat RIdge. We will ride Clear Creek to Golden, up Easley and then climb the Blunn Reservoir (a real climb to me) and the sail down Ralston Creek to Garrison for 25 mile ride. If the group wants, we can go down Ralson to Clear Creek. We’ll decide that day.


Friday, September 13th:

9:00 AM FUN-H1-15-SE Meet Tom and Carol Tobiassen at the Aurora History Museum (15051 E. Alameda Pkwy, between the Aurora Public Library and the Aurora Municipal Center) for a 15-mile ride and tour of Fairmount Cemetery famous gravesites, including Barry Fey, the concert promoter.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-18/23-NW- Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE SPACE, TIME, 9/11 RIDE or THE HIDDEN GEMS OF BROOMFIELD! This adventure begins near the SE corner of Sheridan and 120th at the new Whole Foods in Westminster (1/2 mile east of Sheridan at Vrain and 120th.) (4451 Main Street 303-439-7000) We will take secret trails around Broomfield where we will experience three incredible hidden displays including THE SOLAR SYSTEM, a brief history of GEOLOGIC COLORADO TIME, and a 9/11 MONUMENT. (This ride has an escape option at the 18 mile marker for riders who run out of time and/or steam.) Possible lunch afterwards at Whole Foods.


Wednesday, September 18th:

9:00 AM Leisure Ride H1-21 SE Meet Dave Noble (home 303-694-2008, cell 303-906-3163) in the parking lot of South High School, corner of Louisiana and S. Franklin, near SE corner of Washington Park, for a ride including Westerly Creek, Stapleton, City Park, and Cheesman Park. Bring a snack and money for a restaurant lunch after the ride.

9:00 AM FUN H1-21 SE Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) in the parking lot of South High School, corner of Louisiana and S. Franklin, near SE corner of Washington Park, for a ride including Westerly Creek, Stapleton, City Park, and Cheesman Park. We’ll ride a similar route at a bit faster pace and meet them for lunch.


Thursday, September 19th:

9:00 AM INT-H3-25-SW Meet Ellen Fitzpatrick (720-209-2269) at the Stone House (2900 S. Estes St., Lakewood) for lots of climbs on ride as we head west on Bear Creek Trail through Morrison and into Red Rocks park to Trading Post, then out to and over Dinosaurs Ridge toward Alameda Pkwy. Then cruise down the road toward Bear Creek Trail and into the Bear Lake Park following the trails toward and over Mt. Carbon. Down into Fox Hollow G.C. where we can stop for brunch on the patio before returning to the Stone House.

11:00 AM, MTB, P3, T2, Centennial Cone. THE RIDE: Meet Valerie Mee (303-322-8332) at the north parking lot of Centennial Cone. The loop is around 12-14 miles. Info at: http://jeffco.us/open-space/parks/centennial-cone-park/ . THE TIME: 11:00 AM (WHEELS ROLLING! PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY ENOUGH TO START AT THAT TIME.) THE DIRECTIONS: To find the parking lot, google “Centennial Cone North Trailhead, 3956 Camino Perdido, Golden, CO 80403.” Or follow these directions: Take Colorado Hwy. 93 north from Golden approximately one mile to Golden Gate Canyon Rd. Travel west about 8 miles to Robinson Hill Rd. Turn left and continue to Camino Perdido, the north access road into the park. The trailhead is approximately one mile to the south. THE FOOD: Bring food and drink for a picnic lunch afterward in the Centennial Cone parking lot. Remember your folding chair!

This will be a circle trip riding half road, half paved bike path, starting north on the Platte trail, then east on Little Dry next to Dartmouth heading uphill to Dahlia. Then proceeding south onto Happy Canyon and west onto Quincy, and finally some downhill to Clarkson. From there south to catch Big Dry Trail to the Platte and back south to the start. Lunch after on the patio at Angelos or the Brewery, group choice.


Sunday, September 22nd:

9:00 AM NEW & IMPROVED WESTMINSTER CLASSIC. Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for an exciting ride full of unexpected twists, turns, and surprises...and now with BRAND NEW TRAILS. We will meet at the parking lot WEST of the baseball diamonds in Westminster City Park. (Directions: From US 36 and Church Ranch Blvd/104th Ave. exit, east on 104th about 1/2 mile to the first left after the Westminster Blvd light, then go LEFT again into the parking lot. The address for the park is 10455 Sheridan Blvd but note again that we are meeting WEST of the buildings and baseball fields.) This ride takes us through the Westminster, Northglenn, and Thornton area, including the Farmer’s Highline Canal, Lee Lateral, and Grange Hall Creek trails.


Wednesday, September 25th:

9:30AM. FUN-H1-26 SE PLATTE RIVER CRUISE Join Helen Berkman (720-355-5687) for a simple jaunt from REI up the South Platte to Hudson Gardens and back. A tried and true classic you may not have done recently! Meet on the deck outside the REI Starbucks.

10:45 AM, MTB, P3.0, T3.0, Buffalo Creek (Shuttle Ride). The Ride: Dick Plastino (kfish9@comcast.net) will you meet at the free parking lot (directions below) and organize a shuttle up to the Little Scraggy Parking Lot, 4 miles south on Hwy 126. We will ride Little Scraggy #1 and #2, then ride the Colorado Trail to Shinglemill, then down Shinglemill and/or Morrison Creek to Buffalo Creek Rd. and then back to the free parking lot. About 18 miles. We’ll have a car take drivers back to their cars at Little Scraggy Parking Lot and return for a picnic at the free lot. Bring a substantial snack to eat during the ride! Directions: Drive Hwy 285 south to the Pine Junction traffic signal, something like 8 miles past Conifer, turn left on Hwy 126, drive through Pine and when you reach Zoka’s Restaurant at the south end of Pine, start your odometer. Drive 2.8 miles and as you go up a steep blind hill with a 30 mph sign near the top, get ready to turn immediately right onto Buffalo Creek Road, a mostly gravel and potholed road. Drive several hundred feet and you’ll see the free parking lot on your left. Food: There is usually a tent with picnic tables. Bring whatever you want to eat and share.


Thursday, September 26th:

9 AM Leisure Ride H1 15-20 SE Cherry Creek Trail and Piney Creek Trail Meet Jill McMahon (303 888-0314 cell) at the Arapahoe Rd Trailhead for the Cherry Creek Trail. (This is just east of Jordan Road on Arapahoe Rd - try 15200 E Arapahoe Rd in your GPS.) We will ride north into Cherry Creek Park and then turn east on the Piney Creek Trail. We will ride between 15-20 miles depending on the desires of the group. This is an out and back ride. Bring a snack and money for lunch at a local restaurant if you plan to join us.


Friday, September 27th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-15-20-SE Meet Sharon Bair (303-898-8581) at the Arapahoe Road trailhead (Arapahoe Road just east of Jordan Road) for a ride to Parker Farmers Market. We will ride down the Cherry Creek Trail and turn onto the trail that will take us to Main Street in Parker. We’ll spend an hour or so at the Parker Farmers Market and then ride back. Bring a lock so we can lock up our bikes and money to shop or buy a snack.

10:30 AM, MTB, P2.5, T2-3, Marshall Mesa. Join Alison Preble (720-854-9923, ajbikes@yahoo.com) for a 13.5-mile loop ride on these fun trails south of Boulder. Total gain approx. 950 ft. Stunning views. Going clockwise, we’ll ride Marshall Valley, Marshall Mesa, Community Ditch, Greenbelt Plateau, Greenbelt Connector, Flatirons Vista S., Doudy Draw, and Spring Brook. We’ll return via Doudy Draw, Community Ditch, and finally, Coal Seam. DIRECTIONS: Meet at the Marshall Mesa Trailhead located at the SE quadrant of Hwy. 93 and Marshall Rd. There is free parking at the dirt lot on the north side of Marshall Rd. across from the trailhead lot. If the free lot is full, try the pay trailhead parking lot on the south side of Marshall Rd. at the start location ($5.00 per car). Refuel after the ride at the nearby Southern Sun Pub and Brewery at the SW quadrant of Hwy.93/Broadway and S. Boulder Rd. (627 S. Broadway, cash only).


Friday, October 4:

10:30 AM FUN-H1-10-20-SW Meet Ellen C (outdoorsdiva@yahoo.com) at Lucille’s in Littleton (2852 West Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO 80120). BEIGNETS, BIRDS AND BIKING IS BACK! We will meet for pre-ride snacks (think beignets) before heading out for some birding at 11:15. If the weather is nice we will bike, if not we will walk. We will do most of our birding along the Platte River Bike Path but may also go up to Sterne Park to look for the Wood Ducks. Expect plenty of bird watching stops! If we are in need of liquid refreshment post birding we may stop in at Blind Faith Brewery which is conveniently located right next to Lucille’s.


Saturday, October 5th:

11:00 AM FUN-H2-22-SE Meet Dick and Lynette Shelton (720-934-9824) at Treads Bicycle Outfitters, 16701 East Iliff Ave., Aurora, for an end of season ride to Arapahoe Road bridge and includes a loop around Cherry Creek Reservoir, finishing back at the Peak to Peak Tap Room next door to Treads. Easy climbs.
