Saturday, September 1st:


9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-SE Meet Ellen Fitzpatrick (720-209-2269) at Eisenhower Park (southeast corner Dartmouth and Colorado Blvd at the rec center) and we will ride out to Cherry Creek reservoir on roads through the Denver Tech center, loop the reservoir, and return on the Cherry Creek bike path to Cook Park and meander our way on bike friendly neighborhood streets back to the start. Optional lunch after.



Sunday, September 2nd:


9:00 AM FUN–H1–20-Downtown CHERRY CREEK: Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this Incredible FREE BEVERAGE FAREWELL to Summer Adventure. We will meet at the City of Cuernavaca Park downtown (Exit at 20th Ave going east. Turn right over the bridge onto Little Raven, then turn right onto 19th Street, then right onto Platte River which becomes Rockmont Drive, and go until you dead end into the parking lot) for this fantastic ride down the Cherry Creek Bike Path to the 4 Mile Historic House and beyond. A beverage of your choice will be provided to all riders on the return voyage at the REI Starbucks before we head back to the cars.

10:30 AM, MTB, P2-3, T2-3, Buffalo Creek -- Meet Cathy Leibowitz (720-644-7189) for a loop through the Buffalo Creek trail system.  We’ll ride various trails – Skipper, Strawberry Jack, Gas House and Baldy.  DIRECTIONS:  Take US-285 south to Pine Valley Road.  After making a left onto Pine Valley Road, go about 7.2 miles to Crystal Lake Road.  Make a right onto Crystal Lake Road.  The parking lot is on your left.    POST-RIDE:  Bring food and chairs for a picnic.


Monday, September 3rd: Labor Day


9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-35 SW Meet Ellen Fitzpatrick (720-209-2269) at Reynolds Landing (S. Santa Fe turn on Brewery Lane at the light and go to end parking lot past the brewery) for a ride out to Morrison and back. We will take the Platte River greenway north to the Bear Creek trail, through Fox Hollow golf course through Bear Lake Park and into Morrison for a coffee stop (coffee on DBTC). We will return through the park back to the Bear Lake trail to the Platte and back to the Landing. Optional lunch at Fox Hollow or after at Farm House at the Breckenridge Brewery.



Tuesday, September 4th:


10:30 AM, MTB, P2-3.5, T2-3.5, Staunton State Park – Ron Reid (303-941-1471) is leading the ride. DIRECTIONS:  Take US Highway 285 south to Shaffers Crossing, about 6 miles west of Conifer. The actual off ramp sign from Hwy 285 says, "Shaffers Crossing/ Elk Creek Road.  It's 30 minutes from the intersection of Hwy 285 and Kipling to the parking lot.  Turn north on Elk Creek Road and follow the signs 1.5 miles to the park entrance.  A couple of hundred feet past the park fee station, make a sharp right and go down to the smaller parking lot.   Note that there is $7 fee per vehicle at the entrance gate.  FOOD: Bring snacks and a chair for a parking lot picnic.


Wednesday, September 5th:


9:00 AM FUN H2/H3-24 SW - Meet Susie Frakes (303-910-8206) at her house - 7573 S. Estes Court, just east of the shopping center parking lot, where we met for the June 13th ride,  (just behind 7/11 store on Garrison and Ken Caryle)  Estes Court is 2 streets East of Garrison -  @ 9:00 AM for a ride west through neighborhoods to Ken Caryle Ranch neighborhood and over to Deer Creek Canyon Road, then to Chatfield Dam and back through neighborhoods to start point. We'll do a Potluck Lunch after the ride - bring a dish to share and your favorite meat to grill.  I will provide cold water to drink.  You are welcome to bring any other beverage.  If you have food that needs refrigeration, please come early enough to drop it off and put in my fridg.  Either park in the driveway or park on the side of the street.  If people double up on parking there is enough room for 8 cars in our wide driveway!!

9:00 AM Leisure H2-20 SW Ride and Pot Luck BBQ at Susie Frakes’. Meet Richard Gieseler (303-722-1475) at Reynold’s Landing for a ride along the S Platte and into Littleton. Friday, September 7th


9:30 AM H1-2–25–FUN-PLUS NE BFF BIKE FRIDAY RIDE  Join Lise (303-249-8621), Cyndy & Helen at Cake Crumbs (22nd & Kearney in Park Hill) for a moderate-level spin around town on your Bike Friday (or just ride your 'normal' steed if you don't have a BF). We'll start off going southbound to the Cherry Creek trail, out to the dam and then retrace toward REI at Confluence Park. Option to ride farther north on the Platte and return via Sand Creek and Dahlia, for a total of ~30 miles. No Drop! Lunch afterward near the starting point  if desired. Route may change without notice, so stay tuned!


11:30 AM  FUN PLUS-H1/2-15-30, SW - Brewery Ride to TBD Brewery. Meet Ellen Chilikas (outdoorsdiva@yahoo.com) at Riverside Downs Park (2600 W Belleview Ave, Littleton, CO 80123) on the north west corner of Santa Fe and Prince near the Pedal Bike Shop in Littleton. Park on the far east side of the parking lot across from 24 Hour Fitness. Ellen will post detailed info on Meetup the week before the ride.  Expect a fun group visiting a great brewery!  Leader will bring snacks. Please bring a bike lock and as always wear your helmet! Please be ready to ride by 11:30 AM! THIS IS A FAIR WEATHER RIDE - pavement must be dry for the ride to be a go.

8:30 AM FUN PLUS H3-33-W Crown Hill to Lookout Mtn Ride.  Meet Tom Hurja  (303-903-4449)  at Kipling / 2625 W. 26th Ave. and Ride from Panorama Bowl to Lookout Mountain, (via west on W 26th Ave). North on Quail, west on W 32nd Ave, North to the Clear Creek Path, then West to Golden and on to Lookout Mountain via 19th St.). Return via Golden and the Clear Creek Path.


9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-18/23 NW- Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE SPACE, TIME, 9/11 RIDE or THE HIDDEN GEMS OF BROOMFIELD! This adventure begins near the SE corner of Sheridan and 120th at the new Whole Foods in Westminster (1/2 mile east of Sheridan at Vrain and 120th.) (4451 Main Street 303-439-7000) We will take secret trails around Broomfield where we will experience three incredible hidden displays including THE SOLAR SYSTEM, a brief history of GEOLOGIC COLORADO TIME, and a 9/11 MONUMENT. (This ride has an escape option at the 18 mile marker for riders who run out of time and/or steam.) Possible lunch afterwards at Whole Foods.

Sunday, September 9th:  

9:00 AM FUN-H2-30 SE Meet FIRST TIME RIDE LEADER Sharon Bair (303-898-8581) at the Village Greens Park at Union and Dayton. We will ride at a 10-12 mph pace through Cherry Creek Reservoir and south on the Cherry Creek Trail to Parker.  This will be an out and back. We’ll do lunch after if anyone is interested.


Monday, September 10th:  

9:00 AM FUN-H2-21-SE Meet Wayne Tomasello (720-854-8767) at the corner of Alameda and Sable Rd. in the parking lot of BJ’s restaurant for a ride on the Highline trail to the Tollgate trail to the Cherry Creek trail for a loop. The ride is on paved bike trails. An optional lunch is at BJ’s.


Tuesday, September 11th:  

Breckenridge to Frisco Bike Ride and overnight stay in Breckenridge 
10:00 AM FUN-H2-22 West -- Meet Lin Hark (303-578-9369) at the Ice Rink Parking Lot in Breckenridge for a mtn ride. (Directions I-70 W to CO-9 S exit 203, stay on CO-9 for about 9.5 miles to Boreas Pass Road. Turn left just past the gas station onto Boreas Pass Rd. The sign will say Broken Lance Rd to the right but turn left. The Ice Rink Parking Lot is on the right a short ways up. Or just Google Map 189 Boreas Pass Road) We will ride the bike path from Breckenridge to Frisco and back. We may get to see some fall colors beginning. If you are interested in staying with Lin at the Grand Timber Lodge the night before or after the ride Monday or Tuesday Sept 10-11-12 call Lin at 303578-9369. Bring a lunch for the ride and money for dinner later that evening at a restaurant in town. Bring Swimsuits. If you would like to carpool call Lin for who is coming and the meeting place.


Wednesday, September 12th: 

9:00 AM FUN-H2-27-NW Meet Dave Noble (home 303-694-2008, 303-906-3163 cell) to ride the Farmer’s Highline, Signal Ditch, Brantner Gulch, Platte River, and Grange Hall Creek trails.  Lunch afterwards at Cinzzetti’s restaurant.  (Directions to start:  From I-25 and 104th – exit 221 – go west and take first north/right turn into the Marketplace Shopping Center.  Drive north to rear of shopping center and park in front of Cinzzetti’s.) 

9:00 AM Leisure H1-12.5 SW Meet Jean Stevenson (303-349-1596) in the Waterton Canyon parking lot (South on Wadsworth from C-470, follow the signs at the end) Beautiful ride up the canyon road along the South Platte River to the view of Strontia Springs Dam, then back down.  Slow pace to enjoy the scenery. Optional lunch after the ride at a restaurant on S Santa Fe north of C-470.


Friday, September 14th:

Saturday, September 15th:  

9:30 AM, INT-H2-30 N, Big Dry Creek Park to Louisville  Meet Chuck and Peggy Caldwell (303-807-1562) for an intermediate road ride from Big Dry Creek Park (on 128th Avenue between Zuni and Huron) to the Bittersweet Cafe in downtown Louisville.  The ride starts on the newly paved Big Dry Creek Trail to the US 36 Trail. We ride on that to Louisville.  We’ll take a coffee break (chai break for us) at the Bittersweet Cafe (836 Main St, Louisville, CO 80027) before returning via a different route.  DIRECTIONS: The address for Big Dry Creek Park is 1700 W 128th Ave, Westminster, CO 80234.  Going north on I-25: exit west on 120th Avenue to Huron Street.  Go north (right) on Huron to 128th Avenue.  Go west (left) on 128th for about three quarters of a mile.  Big Dry Creek Park will be on the south side.   Meet at the small pavillion across the parking lot from the playground.

Sunday, September 16th: 

9:00 AM INT-H3 to H4-38-SW Meet Tom Hurja (303-903-4449) at the second set of railroad tracks in Sedalia for a Bike and Brew ride for Boomers on Bikes.  We’ll ride to Larkspur and back via HWY 105 and enjoy the beautiful scenery as we pedal through the Douglas County countryside.  We’ll enjoy snacks at the Larkspur Corner Market before we return to Sedalia.  The ride is hilly with a few good  hill climbs.  We’ll decide on a suitable place for brews and lunch after the ride. 

10:00 AM NW Show and Go - riders determine pace and route Crown Hill Park, just east of 26th & Kipling 

10:00 AM, MTB, P2-3, T2-4, Hall Ranch, Lyons, CO -- MTB Project says Hall Ranch has something for just about every rider. The circular route will start from the Lyons town park (Sandstone), Apple Valley, then Antelope Trail, and the beautiful mountain views of the Nelson Loop Trail, (if the smoke ever goes away).  Aggressive riders may want to descend through the treacherous rock gardens toward Hwy 7. Estimate about 7 miles on park trails, about 4 miles on road.  Refresh at the nearby Oscar Blue’s brewpub afterward.  Lyons Sandstone Park (350 Broadway St., Lyons, CO 80540) is about an hour and ten minutes from central Denver.  Bob Kochevar will lead this ride, (303-870-6833).   Go to https://www.bouldercounty.org/open-space/parks-and-trails/hall-ranch/ for more info.


Monday, September 17th: 

9:00 AM FUN-H1-23-NW Meet Wayne Tomasello (720-854-8767) at Gold Strike Park for a ride on the Ralston Creek path to Easley Rd to Clear Creek path back to Ralston Creek path. Directions to the start: From I-70 take Sheridan Blvd to Ralston Rd. Turn left onto Ralston Rd and go to the next left turn onto W 56th Ave. The park is on the left in about 300 feet. An optional lunch is at Beau Jo’s. 


Wednesday, September 19th:   

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25 SW Meet Pete Steel (303-979-4634) at Crown Hill (26th & Garrison) for a ride to Golden via the Clear Creek Trail.  From Golden we will ride Old Golden Rd to Rooney Rd, which we will take to Alameda.  We will ride east to Jewell taking Florida to Garrison, returning to the park. 

9:00 AM Leisure H1/H2-16 SE   RIDE THROUGH CENTENNIAL TRAILS.  Meet Jill McMahon (303 888-0314 cell) at the Goodson Rec Center, 6315 S University Blvd, Centennial.  Goodson Rec Center is approximately ½ mile north of the intersection of University Blvd and Arapahoe Rd.  At the light, go west on Goodson Rec Center Drive to get to the Rec Center.  Go around the Rec Center to the left of the building and park in the lot near the path to the park on the left.  We will travel on the Highline Canal, the Centennial Link Trail and into the Willow Spring Open Space.  After stopping for a snack on Jill’s deck (which will be provided by Jill) we will re-trace our route and return to the Rec Center.  For those who wish, we will have lunch at Shanghai Gardens. 


Friday, September 21st:

9:00 AM FUN H1-H2 20 NE Bob Svenson  cell 720-331-5169 home 303-289-5563  Overview: EB Rains Park start, Farmer’s High Line Canal, to Lee Lateral Trail, Lakeview Tributary Trail, Brantner Gulch Trail, around Eastlake #3 pond, return on Farmer’s High Line: clockwise loop. Several restaurants 2 blocks from the parking lot after the ride.   Directions: I-25 North from downtown to 120th Avenue.  Right turn.  Go to first stoplight (eastbound), then right on Community Center Drive two blocks to the LEFT parking lot just past the Lake. Overflow parking is across the street behind the Northglenn Police Station (west). Note: I have a few extra maps Thornton Recreation created: much more detailed than any other showing the off-street, on-street trails. 

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2to3-25 SW Meet Patty Gaspar 303-618-5069 behind the tennis bubble, W Bowles & S Federal in Littleton, ride the Platte River Trail to Chatfield then east on C-470 Trail for a mostly gentle climb then across on Clarkson with a great downhill to Big Dry Creek to finish the loop. Lunch afterwards is at one of the nearby eateries. 

11:00 AM, MTB, P2 T2, Dirty Bismark, Meet Alison Preble (720-854-9923, ajbikes@yahoo.com) for a 15.5-mile loop ride on the trails just southeast of Boulder. A little over 900’ of elevation gain, nice views of the flatirons. Mostly smooth single and double track, with a few short rocky sections. DIRECTIONS: We will meet at the Marshall Mesa Trailhead located at the southeast quadrant of Highway 93 and Marshall Road. The trailhead parking lot requires a $5 per car per day parking fee. However, if there is space, there is free parking in the dirt lot on the northeast quadrant of Hwy. 93 and Marshall Rd.  Refuel after the ride at Southern Sun Pub and Brewery (627 S. Broadway). 

10:00 AM FUN/ATB H2 28 miles SW South Platte Hotel to Decker’s Corner Meet Lin Hark (mtnlin08@ gmail.com or 303-578-9369) and Susie Frakes at The Fort Restaurant to carpool at 9:00 AM or meet at the South Platte Hotel on Foxton Road near the intersection of N Platte River Rd at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM start. Susie will lead the ride to stay at a FUN pace and Lin will sweep with her E-bike. We will ride a surfaced dirt road along the South Platte River for several miles to pavement which continues to Decker’s Corner where we will stop for a snack or lunch. This ride is a mostly gentle climb of 330 feet elevation gain up-stream with a few rolling hills. Because of the 3 mile dirt section of the road, a cross bike or mountain bike is preferred but a road bike with not-too-skinny tires will work fine. This ride will be at a FUN ride pace of around 10-12 mph average with regrouping.


Sunday, September 23rd:
 

9:30 AM FUN-H2-22-SW Meet Bob Shedd (720-290-6014) at the RTD Littleton Downtown Station, in the northwest quadrant of the parking lot located at Alamo Avenue & Prince Street.  Ride will go south and west on the paved Dutch Creek Path and side streets that Bob has scouted in the Columbine and Ken Caryl areas, and includes a climb up to the dam at Chatfield State Park. Optional lunch afterward at Merle’s Restaurant on Main Street, within 3 blocks of the starting location. 


Monday, September 24th: 

9:00 AM FUN-H2-20-West Meet Wayne Tomasello (720-854-8767) at SW corner of Kipling and Jewell, Lakewood, at Safeway Shopping Center for a ride on the Sanderson Gulch Trail to the Platte River Trail to the Lakewood gulch Trail . An optional lunch is at Café Jordano.


Wednesday, September 26th: 

9:00 AM Leisure  H1-20 SE -- Meet Julie Brown (303-947-7908) in the Parking Lot at Bible Park. (From Yale and Monaco, go east and turn south into the parking lot.) This is an out-and-back, heading east on the Highline Canal. We will ride to Fairmount Cemetery to view the fabulous fall colors!  Bring a snack and money for lunch after the ride. Please arrive early, as we will leave at the designated time.


Friday, September 28th:  

11:30 AM  FUN PLUS-H1/2-15-30, SW - Brewery Ride to TBD Brewery. 9:30 AM FUN/INT-H2to3-25 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at the Sheridan Library Parking lot west of Federal and Oxford.  We’ll head toward the rebuilt Bow Mar area and go to Bowles Lake, Grant Ranch to Wadsworth and back to Sheridan High School.  We’ll ride some hills and lots of ups and downs, some beautiful quiet streets and pleasant bike paths.  Lunch is afterwards.


Saturday, September 29th: 

9:00 AM INT-H3-25 SW Meet Jeff Krinsky(720-373-9107) for THE GREAT AMERICAN DINOSAUR RIDE 2018!!! Last time we tried this ride we instead merged with the ride to watch the Colorado Classic Race on Lookout Mountain and my chain broke so let’s try it again!!! The adventure begins at the Lakewood Heritage Center at Belmar Park at Ohio Street on the west side of Wadsworth, north of Mississippi and South of Alameda. We will tour the park then head west to Dinosaur Ridge and Red Rocks where we will stop for a break. Then we will continue on down through Morrison and Bear Creek Trail and return north to Belmar Park. The first 100 attendees will ride for free!!! Lunch options will be discussed.


Sunday, September 30th: 

8:00 AM FUN-H2-25-SE - Mt Nebo! Meet Gaar Potter (303-691-0938) at Eisenhower Park Rec Center (SE Corner of Dartmouth and Colorado Blvd). We will ride to 2 cemeteries and place a rock on a gravestone at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. We also visit Fairmount Cemetery... and Lowry. We may also check out one of the new Bible Park bridges (I hope!).
