Tuesday, October 6th

10:30 AM, MTB, P1.5-P4, T2, NORTH FORK TRAIL  JEFF BAYSINGER This is an MTB ride on the 9 mile long North Fork Trail. North Fork Trail is part of the Jefferson County Open Space system, Reynolds Park. The main ride described here will start from the main Reynolds Park trailhead parking lot. Riders will start at that lot and take the trail past the campground, find the North Fork Trail, ascend about 400' in about 1 mile and descend 1500' in about 8 miles. North Fork Trail ends at the South Platte River. Riders will then ride the river road for about 5 miles to the Reynolds Gulch road intersection, then ride about 4 miles up that paved road back to the parking lot. This loop ride is rated P3-T2.

Alternative 1 - Since there are always thoughts for alternatives, riders can return the same way they came. That is, riding back up the North Fork Trail from the river. That extra punishing ride is rated P4-T2.

Alternative Z - There are some who just want a ride on the North Fork Trail and a shuttle back to the parking lot. This easier ride would be rated P1.5-T2. Those wishing a shuttle should make a comment and see who else may be interested in a shuttle. Shuttle riders will need to meet in the lot, take a vehicle (or as many needed) down to the South Platte River, drop a car off, then return in another car. The vehicle left at the South Platte must be capable of holding bikes for the return trip to the lot.

As with all dirt trail rides, this is weather permitting. A few days before this event, a weather forecast will be provided in the comments.
