Friday, July 31st 

8:30 AM - FUN- H1-23-SE. TOUR OF PARKER, AGAIN! Join Helen Berkman (720-355-5687) at Arapahoe Trailhead as she repeats the popular  tour of Parker from July 18th -- south on Cherry Creek Trail to Sulphur Gulch, up Canterberry Pkwy, then a lovely downstream return via Tallman Gulch Trail and back to Sulphur Gulch and Cherry Creek. No drop ride. Limit 9 riders including leader. Weather permitting, we’ll stop for free ice cream in Parker on the way back!  Pack a snack, a mask, and text Helen to reserve a spot. (THIS RIDE IS SOLD OUT!!!!!)  


Saturday, August 1st

8:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-18/23-NW Ring in the new month with THE SPACE, TIME, 9/11 RIDE or THE HIDDEN GEMS OF BROOMFIELD! Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this adventure that  begins near the SE corner of Sheridan and 120th at the new Whole Foods in Westminster (1/2 mile east of Sheridan at Vrain and 120th.) (4451 Main Street 303-439-7000) We will take secret trails around Broomfield and Westminster where we will experience three incredible hidden displays including THE SOLAR SYSTEM, a brief history of GEOLOGIC COLORADO TIME, and a 9/11 MONUMENT. (This ride has an escape option at the 18 mile marker for riders who run out of time and/or steam.) Possible lunch afterwards at Whole Foods. This adventure has received rave reviews with 4 and a half stars from the ride critics!


Sunday, August 2nd

8:30 AM FUN-H2-25 - 30 +-NE Join Cyndy Klepinger at Cake Crumbs Bakery, 2216 Kearney St., Denver.  We will take city streets and bike paths to visit the Rocky Mountain Arsenal.   Text or call to reserve a spot as ride is limited to 8 riders. 303.725.1565 or matilda8@msn.comt.  Bring a mask to wear before and after the ride.  Pace will be around 13 – 14 mph.  


Monday, August 3rd

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-SW Meet Merri Bruntz ( 303-517-9781) at Foxhollow Golf Course (west of Kipling on Morrison Rd) for a ride east on the Bear Creek Trail to the South Platte Trail where we will ride to Hudson Gardens for a break.  We will return via the same route.  Lunch at the Foxhollow Den afterwards.


Tuesday, August 4th

8:30 AM LeisureH1-20-SE.  Meet Jill McMahon, 303 888-0314(cell), at the Arapahoe Trailhead, south side of Arapahoe Rd Dr, Parker, between Jordan Rd. and Parker Rd. for a ride  south along the Cherry Creek Trail and return.  Bring a snack and a sack lunch for a socially distanced lunch at the large shelter at the trailhead.

10:00 AM, MTB, P2-3, T2-3, Easy Cooler Lunch Ride - Elk Meadow TheEasy Cooler Tuesday Lunch Rides are organized by Liz Cameron (bizliz8888@gmail.com).   These are Show’nGo Rides:  The folks who show up decide what to ride.   A ride is scheduled every Tuesday thru the summer.  Look at Meetup.com under the DBTC group to sign up and for ride changes.  Today’s ride is at Elk Meadow near Bergen Park.  Meet in the Buchanan Recreation Center parking lot.  THE DIRECTIONS: Located at intersection of Colo Hwy 74 (Evergreen Parkway) and Squaw Pass (Colo Hwy 103).  From I-70: Take exit 252 for Evergreen Parkway. Continue for roughly 3 miles to intersection of 74 and 103. Turn left at traffic light; Buchanan Park rec center and Tuscany Tavern are located in this complex adjacent to the softball fields.  From downtown Evergreen, follow Hwy 74 up to intersection of 74 and 103.  Or load directions to 32003 Ellingwood Trail, Evergreen 80439.  THE FOOD:  Tuscany Tavern:http://tuscany-tavern.com/index.html .  Be prepared to bring a chair and food for a post ride picnic in the parking lot if the restaurant is not open.     


Wednesday, August 5th

9:00 AM FUN-H2-18 +/-SW Meet Susie Frakes, 303 910-8206 in the parking lot behind the 7-11 on the corner of Ken Caryl Ave. and Garrison.  We will ride some neighborhoods in the Ken Caryl area, over to Clement Park, through more neighborhoods in the Columbine area, then over to the Platte River Trail by Chatfield Park for a  snack break and back to the start by another scenic route.  Picnic lunch in Susie's back yard afterwards....bring your own lunch and beverage.

ROLL 07:30am.  Meet Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at Anderson Park, 44th & Field St, Wheat Ridge.  Turn into the first parking lot on the left.  Clear Creek Trail west to Easley Road, north for climb over Blunn (aka Arvada) Reservoir. Ralston Creek Trail to Clear Creek east, then south to Sloans Lake. Lakewood Gulch Trail west, north thru Crown Hill and return.  Easy/Mod pace.  Bring masks for rest stops/social distancing.  Limit 7 riders, including leader.  Register via TEXT to leader by August 5.  Ride will not go if it is rainy or forecast is for morning rain.  Call the leader if in doubt.  Optional stops for MickeyD's ice cream or Dunkin beverage.

Friday, August 7th

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H3-25-Frisco 1600' Elevation Gain - Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE FREE ICE CREAM TOUR OF VAIL PASS. We will meet at the Summit Middle School parking lot in Frisco and ride the multi-use trail through Frisco and Copper Mountain, culminating at Vail Pass.  We will enjoy the view and then return to Frisco where DBTC will purchase ice cream for all riders at the Foote’s Rest Sweet Shop in Frisco where there is lots of room outside for social distancing. Directions to Summit Middle School, 158 School Rd, Frisco: Drive westbound from Denver on I-70 to Exit 203, and take the roundabout exit that leads south onto the bridge crossing I-70. Continue south on Summit Blvd. (Hwy 9) for .8 miles to the stoplight intersection of School Rd. & CR 1040. Turn left onto School Rd., and look for DBTC members in the parking lot.


Sunday, August 9th

8:30 AM FUN PLUS-H3-20-NW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) THE HIDDEN GEMS OF LOUISVILLE!!! (Elevation Gain = 1225 feet) This exciting ride full of twists and turns uses the newest portion of the HWY 36 trail that goes west from Interlocken into Boulder then loops back through Louisville and Superior using some interesting secret trails including the Double Lombard Street Experience and the famous Black Hole of Louisville! See you at the Safeway at the Rock Creek village Shopping Center in Superior for this somewhat new tour of the trails of Superior, Louisville, and South Boulder (with a few roads mixed in as required). Rock Creek village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027.)


Monday, August 10th

9:00 AM FUN-H2-20-NW Meet Merri Bruntz(303-517-9781) at Prospect Park (44th & Robb St) for a ride to Sloans Lake.  We will ride the Clear Creek Trail as well as bike-friendly roads in Wheat Ridge to Sloans Lake and back to the park for a social distancing picnic afterwards.


(MOVED OUT ONE WEEK TO MONDAY, AUGUST 17th)

4:30 PM FUN PLUS around 15 to 18 miles SW Meet Suzanne Carter(equinelites@aol.com, 720-480-6521) just northeast of the Pedal Bike Shop in Littleton (2640 W Belleview Ave #100.) We will ride for about 15 to 18 miles depending on what the group wants. Meet near the river side of the parking lot. We will ride south along the bike path that parallels Santa Fe.  We will do an out and back, and will head into Chatfield Park and then head back and maybe grab a beer or whatever at The Pint Room ( near Pedals).And as the pix showed in the newsletter, my dog, Romeo will join us at The Pint Room, as I pick him up on the way back since my office is just across the street.  If for no other reason, you will want to join us to meet Romeo!

Tuesday, August 11th

10:00 AM, MTB P2,T2, Easy Cooler Lunch Ride – Alderfer / Three Sisters Park. The Easy Cooler Tuesday Lunch Rides are organized by Liz Cameron (bizliz8888@gmail.com). These are Show’nGo Rides: The folks who show up decide what to ride. A ride is scheduled every Tuesday thru the summer. Look at Meetup.com under the DBTC group to sign up and for ride changes. Today’s ride is at Alderfer/Three Sisters in Evergreen. THE DIRECTIONS: Go to the signalized “T” intersection in downtown Evergreen, then south on Hwy 73 for 1⁄2 mile to another signal at Buffalo Park Road. Turn right (west) for 2.2 miles and enter the upper Alderfer parking lot just beyond the bright yellow house in the meadow. THE FOOD: Keys on the Green (restaurant in the Evergreen Golf Course clubhouse). Be prepared to bring a chair and food for a post ride picnic in the parking lot if the restaurant is not open.


Wednesday, August 12th

9:00 AM FUN-H2-22-NW SCRUMPTIOUS ICE CREAM RIDE, meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the Arvada park and ride, SW corner of Wadsworth Blvd and 56th Place (south of W 56th Place, west of Wadsworth, just east of Vance) for this tour of Arvada trails including the great Van Bibber and Ralston Creek. The ride culminates with ice cream at the Scrumptious Ice Cream Shoppe in Old Towne Arvada!


Thursday, August 13th

Meet 07:15am, ROLL 07:30am. “Southwest Loop-D-Loop” Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at ADDENBROOKE Park in Lakewood, coming in from the EAST SIDE at Garrison St & Center St. at the traffic light. Turn into second parking lot on left; leader has red Kia Sportage. Pedal south on Garrison, then along Morrison Road west. Ride through Bear Creek Park to C470 trail south. Enjoy SW views along Valley Road and turn eastbound on Deer Creek Canyon Road to Chatfield west entrance. Pick up Mary Carter Bikeway north and include a group consensus stop for beverage en route before returning to the cars. Moderate pace (10-14mph). Bring masks for rest stops/social distancing. Limit 7 riders, including leader. Register via TEXT to leader by August 12. Ride will not go if rainy or forecast is for morning rain. Call leader if in doubt.


Thursday, August 13th

8:00 AM Leisure H2–20-SW Meet Dave Noble (home 303-694-2008, cell 303-906-3163) at Reynolds Landing for a ride around Chatfield Reservoir. Bring a lunch if you’d like to eat afterwards at the large shelter at Reynolds Landing and “social distance socialize!”

5:00 PM FUN–H2–16-Downtown Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this Free Beverage Summer Sunset Ride. The meeting place has been changed to the front of the REI Starbucks. (We normally can park for free at the City of Cuernavaca Park downtown (23rd Ave Exit from I25, go down the hill, drive by the REI Superstore going NE, cross 15th St and keep going till you see the parking lot directly in front of you) HOWEVER the parking lot may still be closed so the official meeting place has been changed to the REI Starbucks  (1416 Platte St, Denver). This is a fantastic ride down the Cherry Creek Bike Path to the 4 Mile Historic House and back. A beverage of your choice will be provided to all riders at the socially distancing break on the return voyage at the REI Starbucks where we will watch the sun start to set before we head back to the cars.

Sunday, August 16th

9:00 AM FUN-H2-23-NW – BACKWARDS, LIMERICK, FORREST FIRE RIDE. Meet Jeff Krinsky at the parking lot down by Clear Creek Trail and the picnic shelter at Prospect Park (44th & Robb St) in Wheat Ridge for this low key, forest fire compromised air ride. We will ride the Clear Creek, Ralston Creek, Blunn Trail Route counter clockwise to minimize the impact of the few hills that there are on this route and to keep our breathing nice and light. In addition, back by popular demand, this ride marks the return of the great LIMERICK Ride.  So have your favorite rhyme ready or just listen to those of others during the two GREAT LIMERICK breaks that are strategically located on the loop!!!


Monday, August 17th

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field St) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Parfet Park in Golden. After a break we will return via the same route for a social distancing picnic in the park.

Based on the desires of the group, we may ride east and/or west. Bring a snack. Afterwards, we plan to have a socially distanced lunch on the patio at The Fox Den ( “The Den at Fox Hollow Restaurant”)

These are Show’nGo Rides: The folks who show up decide what to ride. A ride is scheduled every Tuesday thru the summer. Look at Meetup.com under the DBTC group to sign up and for ride changes. Today’s ride is Little Scraggy, part of Buffalo Creek. The Little Scraggy loop is 12.6 miles (best ridden clockwise). Shorter and easier rides can be done on portions of the Colorado Trail or even on County Road 550. Info about Little Scraggy can be found at https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7015764/little-scraggy-trail-loop DIRECTIONS: Take Hwy. 285 to Pine Junction. Turn left at the light onto Hwy. 126. Turn right onto Forest Road 550. Turn right again almost immediately into the Little Scraggy parking lot. There is a $7 fee. POSTRIDE: Bring chairs and food for picnic in the parking lot.


Wednesday, August 19th

9:00AM FUN-H2-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Crown Hill Park (26th & Garrison) for a ride north to the Clear Creek Trail which we will take east to the South Platte Trail. We will then ride south to REI for a break and then return via the Highlands and Wheat Ridge neighborhoods. Bring a sack lunch for a social distance picnic afterwards.


Thursday, August 20th

The air quality has improved so THE GREAT TOTEM POLE RIDE is on!!!

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-24-NW-(Elevation Gain = 1207 feet) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE GREAT TOTEM POLE RIDE AKA THE HIDDEN GEMS OF INTERLOCKEN! This exciting ride full of twists and turns uses portions of the new Hwy. 36 Trail to take us on a loop that includes the hidden gems of Flatirons Mall, Interlocken, Standley Lake, and Rock Creek Village! We will meet at the Rock Creek Village Safeway, which is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Rd., Superior). This ride is now 99.99% on paved trails. 


Friday, August 21st

8:00am; ROLL 8:15am. INT-H3-30-1550’ elev. gain. Meet 8:00am; ROLL 8:15am. “The Great Blue River Loop topped with ICE CREAM!” Meet Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at North Pond Park parking lot, located off Hwy 9 about 4 miles north of Silverthorne & I-70.
Turn Right off Hwy 9 at Hamilton Creek Road traffic light and turn immediately Right into the North Pond Park parking lot. Restrooms available. Ride Silverthorne bikepath south along the Blue River and access the Frisco/Dillon bikepath. Pedal up, then down Swan Mountain via bikepath and road and on to Frisco for FREE ice cream, compliments of your DBTC! Hop back onto the bikepath and enjoy the mostly downhill ride to your car. Moderate pace (10-14mph). Bring masks for rest stops/social distancing. Limit 8 riders, including leader. Register via TEXT to leader by August 20. Ride will not go if rainy or forecast is for morning rain. Call leader if in doubt.


Saturday, August 22nd

9:00 AM FUN–H2–23 - Downtown Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this Incredible FREE DRINK Summer Adventure! The meeting place has been changed to the front of the REI Starbucks. 9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Prospect Park (44th & Robb St) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Road which we will take to the Ralston Creek Trail. We will then ride the entire length of the Ralston Creek Trail to the Clear Creek Trail and back to the park for a social distance picnic afterwards.


Tuesday, August 25

10:00 AM, MTB, Easy Cooler Lunch Ride - Staunton State ParkThe Easy Cooler Tuesday Lunch Rides are organized by Liz Cameron (bizliz8888@gmail.com). These are Show’nGo Rides: The folks who show up decide what to ride. A ride is scheduled every Tuesday thru the summer. Look at Meetup.com under the DBTC group to sign up and for ride changes. Today’s ride is at Staunton State Park south of Conifer. There are many trails from P2, T2 all the way to P3.5, T3.5. DIRECTIONS: Take US Highway 285 south to Shaffers Crossing, about 6 miles west of Conifer. The actual off ramp sign from Hwy 285 says, “Shaffers Crossing/ Elk Creek Road. It’s 30 minutes from the intersection of Hwy 285 and Kipling to the parking lot. Turn north on Elk Creek Road and follow the signs 1.5 miles to the park entrance. A couple of hundred feet past the park fee station ($9 per vehicle), make a sharp right and go down to the smaller parking lot. FOOD: Bring snacks and a chair for a parking lot picnic. There is even a picnic table.


Wednesday, August 26th

9:00 AM FUN-H1-30 SE Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at the Original Brooklyn’s 2644 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80204 for a ride on the Platte River Trail to the Cherry Creek Trail to the Highline Canal then DOWN Dartmouth. Lunch is at the Original Brooklyn’s but you must bring cash as they will not separate the bill so you will have to pay me (I will brave your dirty money) and I will pay the total. I loved this ride when I did it with Wayne on a Monday. DIRECTIONS: from I-25 take the Colfax exit west to Federal Blvd.; go South on Federal to the next light at W Howard place; then go left. Go to the end and take a left onto Morrison Road and stay right to the parking lot of 13 the restaurant. Or ask your GPS.


Thursday, August 27th

07:37 AM Meet; ROLL on-time at 08:00 AM INT-H3-25-2470' elev. gain.  "The Sweet Georgetown to Loveland Valley & Return Ride"   Join Marilyn Choske(303-905-8510) in Georgetown (location TBD) and pedal up--via bike paths and quiet roads--to Silver Plume and on to Bakerville's 5-mile bike path that spills out onto Hwy 6 just below the Loveland Valley ski area lodge, where everyone will take a (longer) snack break.  Return the same way for a dy-no-mite descent and stopping en route at Georgetown Valley Candy Company for well-earned, FREE ice cream, compliments of DBTC.  If you've been riding and conditioning yourself for a real challenge, join us for this adventure.  Because it's an out-and-back, you're welcome to turn around at any time, and we'll meet you back in G-town for ice cream.  "CASUAL uphill pace" means at YOUR comfortable pace.  Bring masks for rest stops/social distancing.  Limit 8 riders, including leader.  Register via TEXT to leader by August 26.  Ride will not go if it is rainy or forecast is for morning rain.  Call the leader if in doubt.  Remember that this is mountain riding -- warm, waterproof wear!

8:30 AM Leisure H2–13-SW Meet Dave Noble (home 303-694-2008, cell 303-906-3163) at Waterton Canyon parking lot for a ride up Waterton Canyon and back. Bring a snack to eat at the top. If you wish, bring a lunch and chair to eat in the shade at the bottom of the trailhead.


Saturday, August 29th

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25-NW NEW & IMPROVED WESTMINSTER CLASSIC. Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for an exciting ride full of unexpected twists, turns, and surprises...and now with BRAND NEW TRAILS. We will meet at the parking lot WEST of the baseball diamonds in Westminster City Park. (Directions: From US 36 and Church Ranch Blvd/104th Ave. exit, east on 104th about 1/2 mile to the first left after the Westminster Blvd light, then go LEFT again into the parking lot. The address for the park is 10455 Sheridan Blvd but note again that we are meeting WEST of the buildings and baseball fields.) This ride takes us through the Westminster, Northglenn, and Thornton area, including the Farmer’s Highline Canal, Lee Lateral, and Grange Hall Creek trails.


Monday August 31st:

9:00 AM FUN-H1-20-NW Monday Ramble Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Twin Lakes Park (west of Broadway on 70th Ave) for a ride east on the Clear Creek Trail to the South Platte Trail and south to REI.  We will return via the same route for a social distancing picnic in the park afterwards.
