Thursday, August 1st:

6:00 PM FUN-H1-18-SE evening “Peak to Peak”, meet Dick & Lynette Shelton (720-934-9824) at Treads Bicycle Outfitters, 16701 East Iliff Avenue, just West of Buckley Rd. This evening, we’ll ride around Cherry Creek State Park and return to Peak to Peak Brewery for snacks and drinks. Easy climbs. Ride pace is family oriented, helmets are required, dress for the weather, and remember to bring water, sunblock, etc. In the event of questionable weather for riding, check the website the day of the ride. www.bicycleaurora.org


Friday, August 2nd:

9:00AM FUN-H2-30-NE Trike Friday Ride Join Lise Neer (303-249-8621) at Cake Crumbs Bakery & Cafe (2216 Kearney St, Denver, CO 80207) for a spin on your trike, Bike Friday (or whatever). We’ll ride through Lowry to the Highline Canal, connect with the Cherry Creek trail then out and around CC reservoir. Return via Cherry Creek trail & Kearney. Ride will cancel if raining at start time or if T-storms are forecast. Lise’s elbow was injured so come commiserate with her.

12:00 PM FUN-H1-28 SW Meet Ellen (outdoorsdiva@yahoo.com) at 12:00 P.M. just northeast of the Pedal Bike Shop in Littleton (2640 W Belleview Ave #100) for a ride to a local brewery. Meet near the river. We will be going to Mockery Brewing Company at 3501 Delgany St in Denver. Saturday, August 3rd:

9:00 AM, MTB, P3, T3, Little Scraggy (Buffalo Creek). THE RIDE: Meet Cathy Leibowitz (720-644-7189) for a ride on the Little Scraggy Trail loop. THE TIME: 9:00 AM (WHEELS ROLLING! PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY ENOUGH TO START AT THAT TIME.) THE DIRECTIONS: Take Hwy. 285 to Pine Junction. Turn left at the light onto Hwy. 126. Turn right onto Forest Road 550 (also called Redskin Creek Road. Turn right again almost immediately into the Little Scraggy parking lot. There is $7 fee. POSTRIDE: Brings chairs and food for picnic afterward.

9:00 AM Show and Go from behind the tennis bubble at W. Bowles and S. Federal.


Sunday, August 4th:

8:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25 +-NE for a faster show and go. Meet at Cake Crumbs Bakery, 2216 Kearney St., Denver. Each Sunday, we pick a different route, and the distances vary from 25 miles up to 50 miles. We ride east toward DIA and Watkins, sometimes north to Brighton, southeast to Aurora Reservoir or Cherry Creek, or maybe northeast to Broomfield and the new Highway 36 Trail. Some rides may be faster than others; reminders and routes are announced on Meetup.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-21 NW – GOLDEN JUGGLING ADVENTURE!!! Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this new Hidden Gems adventure that includes a juggling and magic presentation! We will meet at Lions Park at 10th and Maple in Golden and ride the Golden Circle and beyond to Heritage Park and other unexplored areas. This ride has been improved each time that I lead it so I can now promise you a rose garden!!!!


Monday, August 5th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-20-West Meet Wayne Tomasello (720-854-8767) at SW corner of Kipling and Jewell, Lakewood, at Safeway Shopping Center for a ride on the Sanderson Gulch Trail to the Platte River Trail to the Lakewood gulch Trail . An optional lunch is at Café Jordano.


Tuesday, August 6th:

10:30 AM, MTB, P2.5, T2.5, Alderfer / 3 Sisters Park (Show’nGo). DIRECTIONS: From the traffic signal in downtown Evergreen, go south on Hwy 73 one-third mile to the traffic signal at Buffalo Park Rd. Turn right and travel 2.3 miles to the upper gravel parking lot just past the yellow house on your right. You will pass by the lower paved lot with a sign designating the name of the park. Don’t park there - - continue up the hill. POSTRIDE: Keys on the Green at the Evergreen Golf Course.


Wednesday, August 7th:

8:30 AM LEISURE-H1-17-NE Meet Dave Noble (home 303-694-2008, cell 303-906-3163) for a ride on the Farmer’s Highline, Signal Ditch, and Lee Lateral bike trails and then through Eastlake Park. Lunch will follow at Cinzzetti’s restaurant. (Directions to start: From I-25 and 104th – exit 221 – go west and take first north/right turn into the Marketplace Shopping Center. Drive north to rear of shopping center and park in front of Cinzzetti’s).

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25 SW Meet Patty Gaspar 303-618-5069 behind the tennis bubble, W Bowles & S Federal in Littleton, ride the Platte River Trail to Chatfield, over the dam then west to check out the new roads and the marina.

7:30 AM FUN-H1-19-SE Meet Linda Lewis at Treads Bicycle Outfitters, 16701 East Iliff Ave, Aurora, just West of Buckley Road, for a ride of the Jewell Wetlands. We will ride along the newly resurfaced Toll Gate Creek trail and then Highline Canal to Westerly Creek and a circuit of Jewell Wetlands.


Sunday, August 11th:

8:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25 +-NE Meet at Cake Crumbs Bakery, 2216 Kearney St., Denver. Meet Cyndy Klepinger (303-725-1565 or matilda8@ msn.com) at Cake Crumbs for a ride east to Watkins. We will be riding on the road with traffic. Pace will average around 13 to 15 mph. 8:00 AM FUN-H2-25 +-NE Lise Neer (303-249-8621) will lead a Fun ride on her trike. 9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-20-NW MAJESTIC MYSTERY RIDE Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the Majestic view Nature Center north parking lot (north on Wadsworth to W 72nd Ave, west on 72nd, just west of Carr on the south side. THIS IS NOT THE ENTRANCE at GARRISON ST. or 71st ST!) The ride will go west on Ridge Road and van Bibber Creek Trail, north on the new Blunn Trail and then return on the entire length of Ralston Creek Trail. The theme of this ride is a mystery so a mystery prize will be provided to all participants during the Ralston Creek Golf Course break!


Tuesday, August 13th:

7:30 AM FUN PLUS-H4-20- W LOOKOUT MTN CLIMB. Meet Cyndy Klepinger (303-725-1565 or matilda8@ msn.com) at the Wooly Mammoth Parking Lot, I-70 and Morrison Road, to test your climbing legs. We will ride through Golden to 19th Street and then start the climb at your own pace. We will regroup at the Buffalo Bill Museum and then descend down the back side to Hwy 40 and back to the parking lot. Depending on the group, there’s an option to visit the buffalo herd.

10:00 AM, MTB, P2-3, T2-3, North Table Mountain. Meet Darrel Deering (303-903-0239) for a ride up and over and around North Table Mountain. All trails including the Rim Rock Trail should be open. We’ll gather at the North Table Mountain West Trailhead (4788 Highway 93, Golden, CO 80403). DIRECTIONS: From Golden at the intersection of Colorado 93 and Colorado 58, go north on Colorado 93 for 2.2 miles. The trailhead parking lot is on your right. POSTRIDE: Golden restaurant chosen by the riders.


Wednesday, August 14th:

9:00 AM Leisure Ride H1-24 SW Join Susie Frakes (303 910-8206) at the Tennis Bubble - Bowles and Federal, south side parking lot for a ride north on the Platte River Trail maybe to REI if it is not too hot and the group is agreeable. Bring a snack for the ride and money for an optional lunch afterward.

9:00 AM FUN-H1-30 SE Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at the Original Brooklyn’s 2644 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80204 for a ride on the Platte River Trail to the Cherry Creek Trail to the Highline Canal then DOWN Dartmouth. Lunch is at the Original Brooklyn’s. I loved this ride when I did it with Wayne on a Monday. DIRECTIONS: from I-25 take the Colfax exit west to Federal Blvd.; go South on Federal to the next light at W Howard place; then go left. Go to the end and take a left onto Morrison Road and stay right to the parking lot of 13 the restaurant. Or ask your GPS.


Thursday, August 15th:

9:00 AM LEISURE-H1-20-NE. STAPLETON-ARSENAL LOOP. Meet Helen Berkman (720-355-5687) outside Rosenberg’s Deli at Stanley Marketplace, 2501 Dallas St., Aurora, for a tour of Stapleton old and new. From the old control tower to the new high school and from the historic Stanley Hangar to the new bike lane into the Arsenal Nat’l Wildlife Refuge, we’ll check out all the corners of what is now Denver’s largest neighborhood. Lunch afterward at Rosenberg’s.

Saturday, August 17th:

8:00 AM FUN PLUS -H2-36-SW Meet Ellen Fitzpatrick (720-209-2269) at Reynolds Landing (Santa Fe turn on Brewery Lane and go to end parking lot past the brewery) for a ride out to Morrison and back. We will take the Platte River greenway north to the Bear Creek trail, through Fox Hollow golf course through Bear Lake Park over into Morrison. We will loop our way back to Fox Hollow and have lunch on the patio at The Den. Then return on Morrison Road to the Bear Lake trail to the Platte and back to the Landing.

11:00 AM, MTB, Staunton State Park. Dick Plastino (kfish9@comcast.net) will be your fearless leader. There are many trails from P2, T2 all the way to P3.5, T3.5. DIRECTIONS: Take US Highway 285 south to Shaffers Crossing, about 6 miles west of Conifer. The actual off ramp sign from Hwy 285 says, “Shaffers Crossing/ Elk Creek Road. It’s 30 minutes from the intersection of Hwy 285 and Kipling to the parking lot. Turn north on Elk Creek Road and follow the signs 1.5 miles to the park entrance. A couple of hundred feet past the park fee station ($7 per vehicle), make a sharp right and go down to the smaller parking lot. NOTE: If it’s full, go back to the sharp turn and continue up the hill to the large parking lots. We will gather for the ride start at the small parking lot, so ride your bike down if you are at the upper lots. FOOD: Bring snacks and a chair for a parking lot picnic. There is even a picnic table.

8:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-20-NW - Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) THE HIDDEN GEMS OF LOUISVILLE!!! This exciting ride full of twists and turns uses the newest portion of the HWY 36 trail that goes west from Interlocken into Boulder then loops back through Louisville and Superior using some interesting secret trails including the Double Lombard Street Experience and the famous Black Hole of Louisville! See you at the Safeway at the Rock Creek village Shopping Center in Superior for this somewhat new tour of the trails of Superior, Louisville, and South Boulder (with a few roads mixed in as required). Rock Creek village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027.)


Monday, August 19th:

9:00 AM FUN-H1-25-SW Meet Wayne Tomasello (720-854-8767) at River Point Shopping area off Santa Fe and Oxford near the HuHot Mongolian Restaurant. Tuesday, August 20th:

9:00 AM FUN-H1/H2-24-E/NE – EAST DENVER/COOK PARK LOOP: Meet Helen Berkman (h.berkman@comcast.net) at Central Park Rec Center, 9651 Martin Luther King Dr. (east parking lot). We’ll ride a loop from the Westerly Park Greenway south, east to Del Mar Pkwy and the Highline Canal, around Cook Park and back up to the Highline through Fairmont Cemetery and Lowry, returning to the start via the Greenway. Optional lunch at Next Door Stapleton (Eastbridge Town Center).

10:30 AM, MTB, P2-3, T2-3, Elk Meadow (Show’nGo). Meet in the Buchanan Recreation Center parking lot. THE DIRECTIONS: Located at intersection of Colo Hwy 74 (Evergreen Parkway) and Squaw Pass (Colo Hwy 103). From I-70: Take exit 252 for Evergreen Parkway. Continue for roughly 3 miles to intersection of 74 and 103. Turn left at traffic light; Buchanan Park rec center and Tuscany Tavern are located in this complex adjacent to the softball fields. From downtown Evergreen, follow Hwy 74 up to intersection of 74 and 103. Or load directions to 32003 Ellingwood Trail, Evergreen 80439. THE FOOD: Tuscany Tavern.


Wednesday, August 21st:

9:00 AM Leisure-H1/H2 15-20-SW Show-N-Go Ride from Bear Valley McDonald’s (5550 W Dartmouth Ave, Denver) The group will decide which direction to go on the Bear Creek Trail or make a loop through neighborhoods. Possible lunch after the ride.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-23 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) behind the McDonald’s at Sheridan and Hampden. We’ll head west but we will avoid going over the dam by heading up Kipling then over to C470 trail. There is a great downhill back to Lowell and Bear Valley. Lunch is in Bear Valley.

Saturday, August 24th:

7:30 FUN PLUS H2-34-SE Meet Ellen Fitzpatrick (720-209-2269) at Arapahoe Trailhead Greenwood Village on the south side of Arapahoe Rd, just east of Jordan Road. We will ride out to and around Aurora Reservoir, going north on the South Cherry Creek Trail into the Cherry Creek State Park, then connecting to the Piney Creek Trail east. Bring snacks as the marina store won’t be open early. Near the end of the ride the group can decide on stopping for something to eat at Doug’s Diner or Kneader’s Bakery.

10:00 AM, MTB, P3, T3, Walker Ranch in Boulder. Join Mark Shimoda (303-514-6248, dr.shimoda@comcast.net) for a ride we have not done recently, Walker Ranch up in Boulder. It is a 7.9 mile loop and rated moderate to difficult with 1,516 feet of elevation gain. The address of the trailhead is 7325 Flagstaff Road, Boulder, CO 80302. Driving directions can be obtained using this address in a navigation site. Basically, drive to Boulder via US 36. Exit onto Baseline Rd. and then Flagstaff Rd. for about 9 miles. That will take you to the trailhead. Yes a long drive, but worth it. We will ride the loop and then break out the refreshments so bring your chair and snacks to share with others. This is the part of the ride that makes DBTC special. Look for an email the day before to confirm the ride and for last minute instructions and words of encouragement. MEETUP riders will be welcomed to ride, socialize and eat with us and will be encouraged to join DBTC.


Sunday, August 25th:

8:00 AM FUN-H2-25 +-NE Lise Neer (303-249-8621) will lead a Fun ride on her trike or FUN PLUS-H2-25 +-NE for a faster show and go. Meet at Cake Crumbs Bakery, 2216 Kearney St., Denver. Each Sunday, we pick a different route, and the distances vary from 25 miles up to 50 miles. We ride east toward DIA and Watkins, sometimes north to Brighton, southeast to Aurora Reservoir or Cherry Creek, or maybe northeast to Broomfield and the new Highway 36 Trail. Tuesday, August 27th:

10:30 AM, MTB P2, T2, Buffalo Creek. THE RIDE: Meet Steve Thomas (303-419-2531) for a ride on the Nice Kitty/ Shinglemill / Morrison Creek trails. The ride will be approx. 10 miles with some extended climbing and a few technical areas. THE TIME: Meet at the Buffalo Creek parking lot at 10:30AM. THE DIRECTIONS: Go west on Hwy 285 to the turnoff to Pine (Pine Valley Rd. or highway 126). Go south to the town of Pine. From Pine go approx. 3.2 miles to Buffalo Creek Road. Go west on Buffalo Creek Road a few hundred yards to the parking lot. THE FOOD: After the ride we can. go to Zoka’s or the Bucksnort Saloon for lunch.


Wednesday, August 28th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-20to25-SE Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Village Greens Park – NE corner of Union and Dayton for a loop ride from the park through Denver and Aurora on trails and then a lap around the reservoir on our return. We haven’t been there for awhile so seems like something we should do. Lunch, of course. If it is hot, we may decide to do the route in reverse so we have more shade at the end - we’ll decide then.

9:00 AM Leisure H1-20 SW For those who can’t ride on Thursday meet at Reynolds Landing (Go west on Brewery Lane at Santa Fe Drive where there is a light. Continue past the Breckenridge Brewery to the big parking lot at the end of the road on the right.) This ride will be a Show N Go ride and will go in the direction decided by the participants on trails and/or streets.


Thursday, August 29th:

8:30 AM LEISURE-H1/H2-15-SW. LEE GULCH LOOP PLEASE NOTE this is a Thursday ride. Meet Marty Pfefer (303 748-4054 cell) at Reynolds Landing (6745 S Santa Fe Dr, Littleton, CO 80120). This is a loop ride on the Platte River Trail, the Big Dry Creek Trail, the Highline Trail and the Lee Gulch Trail. It winds around some very pretty areas - mostly on paved trails but some hard gravel and a short distance on residential streets. There will be an optional lunch afterwards at Panera. Bring a snack, and money for lunch if you plan to join us.

9:00 AM FUN-H1-24-Downtown Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this Incredible Hudson Gardens FREE DRINK Adventure! We will meet at the City of Cuernavaca Park downtown (Exit at 20th Ave going east away from the mountains. Turn right over the bridge onto Little Raven, then turn right onto 19th Street, then right onto Platte River which becomes Rockmont Drive, and go until you dead end into the parking lot) for this fantastic ride down the Platte River Bike Path to the infamous Hudson Gardens and back. A complementary beverage of your choice will be provided to all riders by DBTC at the break at Nixon’s Coffee House at Hudson Gardens.


Sunday, September 1st:
